Was Airbnbin in Clayton and needed a lunch option. Recommend the tapas menu if there are a few of you as it's good value. Mains wise, the halloumi burger with hand cut chips is a good choice and I'd recommend the cheesy garlic bread as a side! (See photos) Friendly staff and well sign posted along the main road. If I'm ever in the area again it's somewhere I'd visit again and good WiFi provisions.

Was craving proper chips as don’t have a deep fat fryer at home …The Old Dolphin was recommended by locals and oh wow did it deliver !!! The staff were lovely and the food superb and very tasty ….but the chips were other worldly !!!! Like stupidly good and thick !!! Definitely would return and recommend to anyone passing to pop in …I’m having a bath full of chips next time I visit!!!

Great food! I had beef stew and my partner had steak. Cooked to perfection. Friendly staff. Will be back again soon.

Absolutely wonderful pub situated in such a gorgeous part of the country. Was up from London visiting a close friend, but of course I couldn't miss my beloved Spurs on tv and the ladies behind the bar could not of been more accommodating to me, popped the game straight on for me and made sure I never had an empty glass. All the locals that came in to watch the match were also so lovely, friendly and chatty and just not what I'm used to from my area of England. And seeing and smelling what was coming out the kitchen all afternoon I was there I just had to come back with a friend later in the evening for my tea, which again was just absolutely incredible (I had the scampi for those wondering) and we even had our pints of Guinness bought to us at our table. I cannot wait to come back up and...

Came here for something to eat. Much better than the Crown down the road, you can tell the staff actually care what they do. No wait times, clean, warm welcoming environment. Just a pleasant little place to get some good grub.

My only criticism would be the burger meat seemed of low quality although it was made well, I feel sourcing better quality beef would have made a world of a difference.

It would be nice to see locally produced food available. I always think that is a nice touch when you know where your food is...
