Absolutely wonderful pub situated in such a gorgeous part of the country. Was up from London visiting a close friend, but of course I couldn't miss my beloved Spurs on tv and the ladies behind the bar could not of been more accommodating to me, popped the game straight on for me and made sure I never had an empty glass. All the locals that came in to watch the match were also so lovely, friendly and chatty and just not what I'm used to from my area of England. And seeing and smelling what was coming out the kitchen all afternoon I was there I just had to come back with a friend later in the evening for my tea, which again was just absolutely incredible (I had the scampi for those wondering) and we even had our pints of Guinness bought to us at our table. Read moreCame here for something to eat. Much better than the Crown down the road, you can tell the staff actually care what they do. No wait times, clean, warm welcoming environment. Just a pleasant little place to get some good grub.
My only criticism would be the burger meat seemed of low quality although it was made well, I feel sourcing better quality beef would have made a world of a difference.
It would be nice to see locally produced food available. I always think that is a nice touch when you know where your food is...
