Turquoise Turkish Takeaway — Restaurant in Braintree

AMAZING food! We didn't have starters but wished we had as the food was delicious. Mains are around £10-£12 which at first I thought was a bit expensive for rice and chicken but after eating it I think it's totally worth it. I ordered based on the waiters recommendation (can't remember what it was called but it was number 45) and I can hand in my heart say it was easily the best chicken I can remember ever eating. Both the food and the waiter were 5* but we were a bit put off by the lady (owner perhaps?) who sat at one of the tables in the restaurant staring her phone with a grumpy face all night and didn't once help the waiter even when it started to get quite busy. Ordered a takeaway for delivery for two people. Waited over a hour for delivery and when it turnt up it was freezing cold. Called the restaurant and was argued with and told that I could have a on the house item next time! Eventually he agreed to send me hot food and give them back the food we did not eat would be one hour 10. Waited a hour and a half and called up to be told that he already sent me food that was hot and that I am not getting any food so he lied to me and let me spend my evening waiting for the delivery. One of the worst experiences of a Turkish restaurant i've ever had. Placed my order at 7pm, at 8.30pm it wasn't here despite the estimate saying it would arrive between 8-8.25pm. When I called, they seemed surprised as the driver had left a while ago. That meant that when it did turn up, it was almost stone cold! I was starving and was finally looking forward to eating. I then poured out the mixed shish that you can see in the photo and couldn't believe it! The chicken was dry, the lamb was ok, but for £9.75 i'd expect at least double, maybe triple.
