So first off let me start by saying unbeatable value. Food was very reasonably priced also included drinks. However a few negatives unfortunately. Firstly the staff didn't feel the friendliest to say the least. They want directly rude but it felt like they were not really happy to be serving you however they soon changed to smiley and pleasant to what I'm guessing were the regulars while they were being served. The food wasn't quite up to scratch to be honest. The nachos were a bit off and had chopped up raw chilies on them which were a little bitter and next to zero cheese which ended up making them very bland. I ordered the hottest curry 🥘 on the menu and was not even remotely spicy and looked like it had dried out a little. Also the rice was a bit clumped. Though I will say was still tasty enough and did finish just disappointed about how mild it was. The pizzas on the other hand were delicious 😋 but unfortunately didn't come with any sides which would have been nice. Anyhow as I said at the top it was great value and it was pleasantly cosy so I will be going again as this could have just been an off day and that's understandable.

Another Wetherspoons ticked off our list.. unfortunately we did not try the food this time. This Wetherspoons is lovely, loved the beams and overall layout inside, bright and clean. There is also a nice garden outside area which is a huge bonus. Within the pub it was nice to see dart boards, apparently they host charity events. The pub is situated on the main road through Witham and has a zebra crossing directly outside, making it easy to cross the busy road. The staff were pleasant and friendly. The pub had a welcoming atmosphere and is certainly one of the best we have visited. We shall be returning to The Battesford Court.

The Battesford Court is a large historic hotel that has been turned into an excellent Wetherspoons. It's nice and cozy with exposed beams. There is an outside seating area at the back of the pub. There was a good selection of cask conditioned real ales, and a good choice of cider all in good condition when we called. The service was excellent and the food arrived quickly even though the pub was busy when we called.

Nice place to go with kids. As it's easy and have what they want. Easy access, not hugely spacious (to move around) but has lots of tables to choose from. Inside and out. Only real negative is it's needs updating. New tables, carpets etc feels a tiny bit dirty when your there but again that's more to do with out dated furniture. Staff can seem a little standoffish when your ordering not hugely chatty, but will have conversations with regulars and be very welcoming. will help change something if you need it. Toilets upstairs also. A couple flights of stairs which is abit hard, very wonky stairs. But food is usually cooked really well and tastes nice. Unfortunately Last time I went some of the pancakes were rock hard and only a tiny about of beans, the size of 2 50ps put together, which was a little strange as it was a large breakfast. Can be a little unpredictable...

Great ...we got the last table near the bar for four people...sat down then realized that firstly we were sitting in a walk way arch so it was a tight squeeze when people were trying to get passed us ....also secondly not sure if it was air conditioning on there was definitely a breeze but it wasn't cold ...it couldn't be the heating as it wasn't warm ...or hot kinda lukewarm not quite anything....we ordered a bowl of chips as a snack for my daughter....and we had to wait 20 odd minutes....they had overlooked the order ....which is really rare coz there, normally really quick with delivering food ...but we still had a good time and would recommend this pub ...9times out of ten its...
