I first started eating breakfast here a couple of years back. My wife and I like to walk our dog around the rec and sometimes will have just a coffee, or once or twice a week we get breakfast too. For me it's one of the best cafes in the whole of Norwich (I've tried many and Norwich has some really great cafes). Firstly they do Lavazza coffee which I love, and they take the coffee seriously and it's consistently spot-on. Secondly, all of the ingredients they use with the food is really high end and often locally sourced (plenty of GF and Veggie friendly options too). The portions are generous, very nicely done and always perfectly presented. There is a Spanish influence in some of the dishes which I really enjoy too. Also the staff are just the nicest, friendliest people. The owners are lovely people, and while most of the staff are young people, it does not belie their professionalism and capability. They are a great example of hard working people; both my wife and I have waited tables in the distant past, and these guys make it look easy (which it isn't). Nothing is too much bother, and they add to the generally friendly buzz you find at the Thorpe rec (Sunday League notwithstanding :-D). They actually state very clearly that they don't do "fast food", they do good food as quickly as it takes, (apologies if I've misquoted but trust me while the wait is never too long it's always worth it). There's plenty of parking if you aren't local, and during the week loads of space to run your dog. BZ Little Park Cafe,...
Read moreLovely, innovative café growing in popularity. Whether walking your dog, out for a cycle or attending one of the many football games played here the café is a welcome attraction to the area and recreation ground. I'm lead to believe that it is a recent development with support from the council; boasting outdoor and indoor seating + a converted iso container tastefully 'clad' with timber, adding a bit of 'in & out' seating. Great selection of cakes, drinks, hot food and other snacks priced reasonably with quick, polite service. Worth a visit even if not too local (I'd certainly go back when not on football parent duties!) as there is an excellent kids playground to the rear and an array of external gym equipment to the side and a basketball hoop...
Read moreVisited during the week, it's a cosy little cafe in a nice quiet location with adequate seating areas both inside and out. Friendly and polite staff. We ordered toasties however we weren't that impressed. It arrived cold and the cheese inside wasn't melted. It seems they toasted the bread and then added the filling, hence why the cheese hadn't melted and by the time it arrived the toast had gone cold. It also looked a bit lost of a plate.. A few crisps to accompany it wouldn't have gone a miss.. Wasn't worth the price we paid. Not sure if I would go...
