The one star is for the beautiful atmosphere and extremely lovely helpful staff. The food was the worst I have had, I never like to complain or do not write reviews only if it was a lovely place. I would not like anyone else to have such a spoilt night if like ourselves it was a special occasion. Our wedding anniversary. Not been here for a very long time so decided to try it. First the gin I ordered they didn’t have but decided just to bring a different one over to the table, but it was very nice so it was fine. We both ordered the mixed grill, we had our first plate come chips came separately, I started to eat as she was a while and served another table only two tables in at the time. My plate was extremely cold, I put the mushroom in my mouth and it was stone cold. When she finally brought the rest of our meal I explained it was cold, she was very apologetic and did offer to take it back. I would rather go with out and would never return it? I cut my sausage and it was just cool? I tried my steak embarrassingly I had to spit it out I couldn’t chew it? I couldn’t cut my chop at all, the egg and chips and peas was ok? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø She did come back and ask how it was, how could so much be wrong with one meal it was awful. My husband managed to eat his though but he did not enjoy it at all? So I couldn’t say much, he wouldn’t leave his at the cost? I wanted to leave straight away it was so embarrassing. He did tell her as he paid. After a family member messaged to say how awful apparently they did check my left food and agreed my chop was over cooked…. Lovely place for a...

The New Inn is a wonderful country pub with great well kept beer and splendid food. A wonderful warm welcome awaits from all the staff, clearly trained to remember all the old fashioned family standards.

At the front of the property there is a ā€˜beer garden’ area, very popular in the warm weather of late and part of the car park front and back. Disabled access is good with a little extra care and behind the bar area there is a large seating area in the restaurant.

The online menu is quite varied and concentrates mainly on traditional pub meals, however that is not a criticism. The portions are good, and represent great value for money. Very few people could eat here, and honestly leave hungry. The sweets menu shows the same imagination with twists on the old favourites (mine the deep fried ice cream, & rum and raisin!) The service is wonderful with helpful friendly advice and reassuring attention to detail especially with our food allergies.

In short a family run friendly and great value country pub, super well kept beer and wonderful food served with imagination and backed by a good clear understanding of...

The New Inn has had a re-fit with New Owners and complete new look!

It’s another fantastic addition to the Bournheath great pubs/restaurants in the village.

The staff are friendly, attentive, down to earth and welcoming. The food is delicious and varied, I struggled to commit to just one dish, so had the mixed grill, which is quite frankly huge!! Jen being vegetarian and not such a big eater balanced our order out with a delicious Halloumi fresh salad. With a sticky toffee and date pudding for deseret (which we shared as that mix grill beat me!), it was a perfect finish.

The refit has been executed well, its welcoming, contemporary (but retaining the village charm) and spacious. The bar and dining area are still separate but work seamlessly with each other, which makes the space more inviting to explore the various seating areas and tables front and rear. The outside spaces have been reworked and provides the pub with various spaces front and back for the summer months.

The new owners Sarah, Chad and their team have done...

I went to this pub with my partner and 2 year old. It was recently taken over by new management. The place seemed tidy and spacious. There is ample parking and has plenty of space outside. There was a bouncy castle that was outside and it was of good quality. My son spent lots of time on it. The staff and management are really friendly and couldn't do anymore for us with any requests we had. I only stopped for a pint of lager and had no complaints regarding the drink. Look forward to visiting again and this looks like it has the potential to be an amazing place.

Went for a Sunday carvery in the restaurant part of the New Inn Bournheath. We all can honestly say how lovely the food was. We had 3 meats, beef, turkey and pork, all the vegetables as well, all was amazing. There was 3 of us and our dog, which is great we can take our dog in to the restaurant area, but must book in advance and tell them you got a dog as only a certain part of the restaurant you can take your dog into. The staff was so polite and friendly. Can’t wait to go again. Highly recommended. Thank you all.
