RUDEST MANAGER I HAVE EVER MET, went into the pub today 28/03/2017 and met the rudest manager ever, I normally come here once or sometimes twice a week because the food is not brilliant but cheap and cheerful(like all flaming grill pub's) but never again, i came in last week and as normal the male manager told me to save my receipt and get 40% off the next meal, but today an overweight female manager flatly refused to honour it and claimed I needed another part of the receipt (WHICH I HAVE NEVER NEEDED BEFORE)so I told her the male manager never asks for anything other than the receipt and her reply was (WELL I'M THE MANAGER TODAY AND WHAT I SAY GOES) and considering I had just drove from aspley to this EXCUSE FOR A PUB at bramcote just to get my 40% off ????? this women could not manage a piss up in a brewery and has just lost the pub 50 to £60 in custom each week, and if her fat overweight mouth continues like that she will lose the pub a lot more custom, I will be also going on twitter and facebook to advise all my 6000 friends and their friends to stay away from this RUDE PUB AND FOUL MOUTHED FEMALE MANAGER, ended up leaving and went to the BOWMAN at HUCKNALL, and it was the same menu but genuinely better food and more importantly VERY PLEASANT STAFF who clearly appreciate it when customers are choosing to spend their hard earned cash in their pub (AND I CAN ONLY SPECULATE WHY THE SHERWIN ARMS WOULD CONTINUE TO EMPLOY A RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS PERSON LIKE HER AS A MANNAGER, BUT THE FACT THAT YOU DO EMPLOY HER IS YOUR CHOICE BUT PLEASE BELIEVE THAT THIS WOMEN IS GOING TO LOSE THIS PUB A LOT OF CUSTOM),,,AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST.... Haven’t been to this once very busy and lovely pub in 3/4 years due to a disappointing meal, but having read a number of positive reviews we thought we’d try it again. 7 of us went, and while most of the meals were nice enough mine was fairly poor to be honest.

We were disappointed that we were unable to use the student discount. Which is advertised on the green king website.

The starters all came out and to give the team their dues they were absolutely fine and the drinks were all perfectly ok as well.

The cheese and bacon beef burger that I ordered came out and was nearly inedible when I tried to eat the underside was black It had shrunk down and was charcoaled on the outside edge. To be honest it looked thrown together and had the smallest bit of bacon on it. Having been for a meal at another pub from a rival chain the previous week where the prices are the same the quality and care taken was not comparable. The amount of fries seemed a bit cheap as well like everyone else’s had been cooked and I got the left overs.

I did complain and to be fair to the guy from the kitchen he replaced my meal and put extra fries on to apologise. The second attempt was fine but you do only get a first attempt at a first impression.

The pub is in need of investment and maybe it was just a bad night but the bar staff seemed unhappy and the pub looked like it needs a really good clean, I’m glad I could wait to get home to go to the toilet as my partner told me how bad they were.

On exit the staff member from the restaurant came out of the rear of the pub smoking cannabis (he did not smell of it when he came to get my meal to re do it however).

Needless to say it’ll probably be a long time before we try again. Hope you manage to get this once vibrant pub back...

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING This is our local & go regularly for food & drink. Always go to celebrate family occasions here, but can say I will never eat here again. Food has always been excellent in the past but the last two times it has been horrendous. We were a party of 7ppl & the pub was virtually empty so expected our meals to be good. Boy was I wrong! My husband had the all American burger & it states it comes with crispy streaky bacon, it was like rubber & cold. No mayo on it & no bab served with it. My daughter had rib eye steak & it was so fatty it couldn't be cut never mind eaten. My other daughter had mixed grill & the steak was thin, chewy & overcooked. Other meals had things missing & wrong food items with them, not what was supposed to be with them. After complaining about two of the items I gave up. Now to get onto the surroundings. Also horrendous. Never seen so many cobwebs in my life. The ceilings were full of them. They are pretty high, but that is no excuse when you can buy extendable sisters. Light fittings also full of them. Rubbish & menus crammed down the sides of seating, sticky tables, menus so sticky they couldn't be opened. & around the pool table area it had been redecorated. Absolutely terribly as well. We found out it had been done by someone who works there & their partner, not professional decorators. Don't be fooled by the pictures of this place.
