It's a proper old pub, the staff were very welcoming and the chef took pride in the food he was offering. We went on carvery day, I didn't really fancy a carvery but I was not disappointed. The chef gave a very generous portion of meat and the vegetables were all fresh and lovingly cooked. A young boy who was having a carvery with his family went back up for more cabbage! (Cabbage eugh). It was busy for 3.30 pm on a Thursday, I had a look at the menu for future reference and it's quite limited.
