Hayloft — Restaurant in Broxtowe

If you're thinking about eating here think twice! With poor reviews on here, TripAdvisor, and Facebook I'd really take heed of what Customers are saying! On Facebook 9 out of the last 15 reviews don't reccomend this place. I visited yesterday, ordered the Chicken and Ribs which took 35 mins to come out, and the ribs were cold. I waited for waiting staff to come round and check on our meals, but no one did so I went up to the bar to inform the waitress. My meal was taken away with the promise they would sort it out for me. What returned 7 minutes later left me shocked. All they had done was cut off the part of the ribs that I'd started and reheated them and stuck them back on the same plate. The chips, peas, and onion rings were now cold, but I think the real pièce de résistance was them pouring bbq sauce over the part of the chicken breast I had cut into when it first came out to hide the fact it was also the same piece. As a result I went back up to the bar and asked for a refund. The barmaid picked up to the phone and I assume called the Landlord who was in his living quarters to get the ok to return my money to me. At no point did he make an appearance. The staff's attitude isn't the best, combination of couldn't be bothered and annoyed that someone had complained. How on earth do you end up sending out cold meat? Training on food health and safety needed here along with customer service training. I also left a similar review on Facebook, only to get a reply from the Manager that I did receive a fresh rack of ribs when the meal came back out. No apology, no explanation for the bad service, nothing. He didn't even show his face at the time. So glad I took a photo of the plate before I left as proof. It's clear to see having visited this place it's badly managed- the staff have no motivation or training, and no one cares if they lose custom, especially...

We went for a Sunday roast but some chose Steak pie 1with Mash & 1 with chips. One of the kids had a Burger. Sunday roasts were all excellently prepared and tasty (especially the gravy). Don't expect belly busting carvery style portions from this typical british pub menu but at this price (£12.99) you can't grumble for the portions and I like to save space for a pudding anyway! Everyone agreed the meat and veg was done well although the beef wasn't pink as described but it was tender and tasty. Puddings were also very nice. Excellent warm welcome by staff, quick table service and landlady who came to greet us and asked how our meals were afterwards which made a nice impression. She even discounted our roast dinners because "its January." Pub interior is a really nice bare brick style with smart decor. We managed to ring and reserve a table for 8. There was Live football on, pool table upstairs and the dart board were great to play on after we ate. We're doing dry Jan and it was nice to see two 0% Ciders, a Guinnes 0% and three 0% beers, Estrella Galicia 0% (rare) Heineken 0% and Peroni 0%. Well done on that front. I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Hayloft, and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
