Woe woe and thrice woe.. former little chef and burger king complex that was abandoned some years ago and left unloved. It was a pleasant surprise to hear it had been taken on by a local entrepreneur although we never ventured in as it is predominantly burgers and my partner can't eat gluten .. although we heard in passing service could be slow.. when a relative was booked in to the adjacent Travelodge and suggested meeting there for dinner and assured us there were gluten free options we decided to give it a try...
Admittedly there were only two waiting staff evident but they were far from overstretched with just 4 tables occupied..yet it was still an absurd amount of time for orders to be taken and drinks to be served.. I know restaurants like to speed the first drink to you then leave you to drink it before bringing food so you inevitably order another but they were away so long I began to wonder if we should call the emergency services.. Or a take away
In summary I would not set foot in this place without a cool box full of groceries for fear of starvation.. the venue is lacklustre and betrays its previous use as a chain outlet lacking any personality.. the new owners may have underestimated their ability to run a venue of this size which is a shame but the lack of management oozes from every pore.. the indifferent and incompetent staff are a waste of time and money.. ...

I ordered two burger meals as a takeaway and it came to just under £20 which I thought was rather pricey but hoped for a really tasty burger. It arrived in just short of an hour and my order was cocked-up (I only ordered two burger meals, it was all in black and white, so I was amazed that it was even possible to mess it up). I was left having to scrape lettuce and tomato off my burger which totally ruined the meal for me and left my burger covered in tomato juice and pips, my mash was also rather revolting, however I didn't make much of a fuss about it out of politeness. I rang up to complain about my burger and spoke to a guy called Jack. After hearing me out he offered to refund the my burger meal back into my account as I paid by card... That refund never came threw and judging by his disrepectful tone of voice over the phone, I don't believe he had any intensions of ever returning my money; which I'd have preferred him to have just said, rather than lying about it - very proffessional(!). I won't be using them again. Much better food and service found in Burnley...
Read moreVisited on Wednesday for my son's 6th birthday. They were extremely busy because they have extended the eat out to help out scheme through September. We weren't aware of this when we booked a few weeks previously so when we realised we were worried that the experience wouldn't be great. We couldn't have been more wrong, the staff were on the ball and didn't miss a thing when ordering food or drinks. We didn't have to wait long for food and drinks either and when the food came it was all spot on. We arrived with a birthday cake which i thought they might be put out about because of how busy it was. Once again completely wrong, they took the cake straight to the kitchen until we were ready for it. After the meal we let them know we were ready for the cake and two staff quickly returned with the it, candles lit and started singing happy birthday. Sorry to go on but i can think of very few places that would put on that level of food and service...
