Went there today, the food was lovely and the female waitress was really nice. But and there’s a big but, if you’ve got allergies I really wouldn’t recommend. They were very accommodating and made me a nice salad and side potatoes but was very over priced and with my dessert I was brought two wafers. Which contain gluten/ wheat. I’m a coeliac and also have a severe allergy to wheat. The last time I was given something cross contaminated I ended up in hospital. I asked the male server if the wafers were gluten free? And he responded to say no and took away the dish. When he returned the ice cream had the dints in the ice cream where the wafers had been? I feel there should be training on allergies when it’s a food establishment as cross contamination is very serious and life threatening. So yet again I had to ask if this was the same ice cream and he’s just removed the wafers. He replied yes and I explained I couldn’t have it. I was brought out more ice cream later and hopefully it was fine. I’ve gone bloated but no serious reaction luckily this time. So as I said before the female waitress was lovely and very understanding. I just feel like having a allergy was a hindrance to the male server. Obviously I can’t comment on the chef or kitchen if there’s a separate area where they prepare allergy dishes like there should be, but my food was really nice and well presented. Definitely wouldn’t recommend if you have...
Read moreReturned here on Sunday 24th August with family after an excellent meal with a freind. The visit was for my birthday, there was five in the party. We were warmly welcomed on our arrival. The food orders were taken, on arrival my gammon was dry like it had been sat under heat lamps for a while, my grandson's mixed grill was also dry as it had been under lamps All of us had finished eating and we had to wait a while for the table to be cleared and recieve the sweet menu, more drinks would have been sold if the staff were more attentive instead of involving themselves in conversation at the bar and not watching the tables. There was no one watching the staff or the tables, not the waitresses fault. We had to wait a while for the sweets ordered.... the restaurant wasn't busy. Disappointed on this occasion, hopefully it...
