Rose & Crown — Restaurant in Bury

my wife and i have been 2-3 nights a wek to the rose and crown to eat and enjoy a bottle of wine,food is a little bit hit and miss but inexpensive,i went on friday 22nd at 7.30 pm and went to order as usual,i waited at the food till with 2 or 3 other customers for 5-6 mins until the lady came,as i tried to order,the waitress took another food order from down the bar,i just thought that maybe the customer had been waiting longer than me so i didnt say anything,i then saw a couple walk in up to the bar and the waitress asked them if they were eating and if so they should come to her till!! she spoke the guys name so obviously knew them and continued to look past the queue that was building behind me,i left the the queue and pub without ordering and wont be back which is pretty sad really as i do think the staff/food and overall experience is usually good and value for money,i know that losing 2 regular customers may not impact very much on a busy pub but it does need to look at not ignoring customers for customers whos...

Just been with my 86 year old aunt, my wife , cousin , brother & wife. who we where visiting from Holmfirth! The meal, service & treatment by the new lady was appauling! Scampi! No lemon! No tartare sauce, table! No salt,pepper, vinegar, tomato sauce etc, all brought individually throughout the meal ( tartare sauce arrived halfway through) gave card when initially ordering drinks, when came to finally pay the bill it was wrong, informed the landlady had gone out and would be back soon, after waiting 20-30 minutes she arrived back, started serving coffee, I shouted her over by this time very annoyed to be told by the landlady she didn’t like my tone,( I’d said “excuse me I’ve been stood here for half an hour”) she continued to talk down to me! In the end my bill was wrong, rectified & I left with my blood pressure hitting the mercury! I’ve been in the food industry for 47 years, absolutely disgusted with her attitude & customer handling! Went for Sunday dinner, staff were polite and attentive. The place was a little run down, not the managers fault its a typical brewery run pub needs doing up but they won't invest any money. Are glasses for drinks weren't very clean which needs checking. The food was ok, not the best but not the worst. The meat was a little fatty which was strange for Turkey we are used to spending about £90 for Sunday dinner for 2 so obviously the price reflected the quality at £30 cheaper. If you're just after a cheap and cheerful pub lunch it's OK the staff are friendly enough would probably go back for a pub lunch during the week. Found it a little strange though we had tried to get in a few times over the last few weeks and it was always saying fully booked but today was very quiet but they came out and put reserved on the tables and nobody came in and sat on them in the 2 hours we were in there.
