Not a great experience today at cafe italia. Starters are overly priced. Going on ÂŁ10 for one starter so we avoided those. All my family ordered pizza, my gluten free was ÂŁ2.50 extra even though I witnessed the chef going to the store next door to buy a FROZEN base. He then carried it through the restaurant infront of my eyes. To add, my grandmaâs pizza was burnt to a crisp so she hardly touched it. I complained about this and the nice waiter did knock this off our bill. We also enquired about the chips, the waiter admitted they were processed and not home made. I love the prawn and tomato linguine with a side of mixed veg and rosemary focaccia. Never seen anybody unhappy with the food, or the portions size (they're very good portions) Ceasar salad is a very refreshing starter or ask for it as a main dish too! Antonio is the head Chef he is Sardinian ,and his cooking is delicious .I recon he could make a great meal out of fresh air!!. Giuseppe the waiter is so accommodating a traditional Sardinian sweet is called a Seada it wasnât t on the menu but he made me one from scratch . By the way you have to kook it the prices are reasonable. And the hours are so accommodating we go mid afternoon.
