Visiting Cambridge we dropped into try some.Sri Lankan food at the Coconut. Calling ahead was told by Saminda to make a reservation since they already had some dinner reservations. Our son not being a fan of Sri Lankan wanted another dish bought from outside and they allowed that as well. Upon arrival table was reserved and we were lucky that reservation was made since the restaurant was very busy with all tables being booked and many pickup orders. Missing home we ordered the chicken kottu and the Chicken Biriyani and was extremely happy with the taste and quantity of the dishes. We were amazed by how 3 ladies at an adjoining table were enjoying the Sri Lankan rice and curry and finishing up every grain of rice on their plates and cherishing the flavour explosion of every bite. It was lovely to meet the family / team of Saminda and Niroshi. If you are in and around Cambridge this is a must visit place.

Great little restaurant, very friendly and welcoming staff. Food was great and bursting with flavour. I have not been to a Sri Lankan restaurant before so this was a first. Spicy and mild curries on offer. Good value we had a good meal for 4 and it was £100, which is pretty decent pricing for Cambridge. A bit out of the way but well worth the effort to go. No alcohol available but interesting drinks like coconut water, mango, passion fruit. The chef came out as we finished to check whether we had a good meal which was very nice. As a consequence we were offered some kiribath (coconut milk rice) for free and it was delicious. Beetroot curry was a highlight. Offer to split some of the side dishes so we had half aubergine and half beetroot curry.

Took my mother here for a birthday treat and it was amazing. A great little eatery with extremely nice staff who were very hospitable and genuine. The food was delicious and well portioned aswell. The whole time we stayed in, the takeout was buzzing, as many people came in and out which was lovely to see. The presentation of the food is fresh and easy to spot as they have their daily dishes on display for those that come in. I would highly recommend Coconut to any one interested in authentic and great food. Will definitely be coming again!

Sri lankan cuisine is very close to my native kerala cuisine which I'm never able to recreate to the tee. My husband and I happened to read about this place online and we casually went to try it yesterday. I assumed it would be altered to the british pallet but to my absolute surprise this turned out to be a hidden gem 💎 The food was brilliant, very authentic -i think i cried when i tasted the coconut sambal (samandi) as it reminded me of my grand aunt who used to make the same during my kerala visits. This family owned enterprise is run by a thorough professional who has years of experience running messes in Cambridge univ and it shows in the quality of food. I had the honour of meeting her, her warmth is unparalleled. Her husband who was at the till was also very lovely. I ordered the pork curry and string hoppers with some fish curry at the side and my husband ordered the dragon chicken and fried rice. We also tried the fish cutlet and a coconut cake at the end. Yumm!! As someone who understands the food and cuisine, the food is truly authentic, fresh, good quality and highly recommended. I will be ordering from here more often and will get my parents to try it when they visit...

Coconut Fusion is one of the best restaurants in Cambridge! We had the white fish curry and the mutton lamb curry. The portion sizes were generous, and we ordered rice and rotis alongside. I highly recommend the rotis, they are the perfect addition to soak up the rich, flavoursome curry sauce 😋. The food tasted incredibly fresh, and you can tell that the chef uses high-quality ingredients. It really feels like authentic, home-cooked Sri Lankan food.

Unlike meals from some other places in Cambridge, the food here doesn’t sit heavily on my stomach, which I really appreciate. For dessert, we tried the coconut bibikan, a delightful cross between a Jamaican cake and sticky toffee pudding. Surprisingly, it wasn't too sweet, just perfectly balanced.

This is definitely a new favourite spot for me. The food is exceptional, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you haven’t been to this little gem yet, you’re missing out, go visit, you won’t be disappointed!Such good value...
