LEON Norton Canes — Restaurant in Cannock Chase

Went twice on the way in and the return of my journey, and while the food didn’t taste bad, a lot of the food textures were somewhat unpleasant. This is possibly because I don’t usually eat gluten free. What is more problematic though is that the food left both me and my travelling companions with horrible gas and bloating. The first time I ordered the Sicilian meatball rice box meal with the crinkle chips side, an orange juice and a cranberry, oat cookie. The items I remember the others getting included the grilled halloumi wrap, firecracker wrap and yuzu pickle side. All items tasted good but the digestive effects started before we’d even left the service station. We only came again on the return because it was late and we didn’t want McDonald’s. I was determined to pick something else in the hopes that I’d just made a bad choice and noted that there’s no option on the digital menu to remove any ingredients which is pretty poor for a chain that is known for being diet-restriction friendly. I eventually settled on the hot honey chicken nugget meal with the same side and a vanilla matcha latte. To the branches credit- the wait time was near nonexistent at the later time we arrived and all of the food this time was pretty delicious. That’s not to say we weren’t impacted by digestive difficulties again afterwards, just that these menu options tasted good enough to be worth it. The vanilla matcha latte in particular was really good though a little too sweet for my personal preference. Also my ketchup for my chips was missing. This time my companion (we dropped the other off at destination) got the golden goddess (?) salad, coleslaw and a lime drink. The salad in particular appeared to go down very well with her although she wasn’t fussed on the slaw as the red cabbage was overpowering the other ingredients.

Overall I probably wouldn’t recommend the food to others who have sensitive stomachs but the taste of all items was good and the drinks in particular were great.

I imagine our issues are probably based on whatever was substituted for gluten in the food or potentially the lack of preservatives in the food which had likely been sat pre-prepped for a while...

The manner of service I received from the staff on the counter today is appalling, I really don't know maybe it's because I have a dark skin, I ordered double sausage and egg while I wait to collect, by the time I was called upon to collect my order, they served me without a bag pack and tissue, and handed the wrap straight in my hands, I took it and realised it was bacon and not sausage when I opened it....i informed staff to change my meal to the right order I paid for, I was told to wait again, while I was standing waiting again to collect my order, I observed about 4 customer was served correctly with a bag pack and wipes included maybe because they have white skin colour, by the time I was called the second time to collect my order, the same attitude and behaviour the staff portrayed towards me with the wrong order at first instance was repeated again ( No bag pack and wipes) I ask one of the staff why do she think she needs to serve me with no bag pack when it's obvious previous customers before me was properly served and mine was handed directly in my hands. There was no apology at all, what the staff did was to put my meal into a bag pack and looked away. It was intentional and sad I will never patronise your business anylonger.. this happened today (13/11/2021) between...

Never heard of them before ...seems like I've lived in a jungle with this lockdown and Covid-19 situation...anyway let's get back on track.. Very tasty food. I love the 🌽 ribs , hmmm yummy, they are pieces of corn with mayo and parmezan 🥴😁😍 just a brilliant ideea. The grilled chicken burger, again, tasty , the cheesy fries 🍟, delicious...Don't know what kind of cheese they use but it is unbelievably delicious. Honestly for the wrap with halloumi i would recommend to get rid of the orange sauce, doesn't belong there... the fish finger wrap ..hmm not so tasty though, but on average i would eat again if I can.

Furthermore because the " all day english breakfast " isn't all day anymore and I am pregnant. Shame on you , I am really disappointed, that was the only thing I've enjoyed in a Services...but thanks to you...I have tried Leon Roadchef...
