Ate here on 1st April 2025 as a walk in close to, as it turned out, kitchen closing time. Was told I need to order in the next 5 minutes.
Had this place on my radar for a while having seen its highly rated on Google maps and read some of the 5 star reviews.
This is by far, the worst steakhouse I've ever eaten at.
Interior is shabby. Not terrible. But shabby.
Toilet room was surprisingly low quality and no hand lotion either.
Food is terrible. Refer to my uploaded images to see what I ordered.
Sourdough was just OK. Nothing special.
I ordered the 'award winning steak', as it says on the menu. Ordered it medium as is recommended on the menu.
Steak was dry, overcooked, a third of it burnt on the outside and very very bland. Lots of gristle on one side of it. And only lukewarm. I make a killer steak at home from just supermarket bought steak, in comparison to this.
They messed up their core product. The steak.
Peppercorn sauce is not the best.
Comes with a 'salad'. Except it's NOT a salad as it turns out. Just a lot of cheap lettuce. Layers upon layers of iceburg lettuce. The cheapest kind.
I opted for the chilli with crispy onions option for the 'salad'. It's literally just sweet chilli sauce with crispy onions. I HATE sugar in my savory food. Doesn't say sweet on the menu I think for the sauce.
Onion loaf is glorified onion rings. Deep fried. Not my thing.
Tiny portion of some leaves on the side and a quarter of a tomato with most of the interior of it missing.
Baby potatoes merely cooked with nothing added, then put into that serving pan with a thin layer of butter and I think parsley... Except there's not much of it, nor does it save these incredibly bland potatoes.
Chargrilled veg is a joke. Mostly onion with 2 slices of courgette and some peppers. For £4.75. And guess what? Unseasoned. Bland. See the theme here? Peppers were cooked fine. Courgettes a little undercooked.
I complained about the steak. My waitress was nice. Was told they would remake it that it'd take half an hour.
Some minutes later a female manager came and said staff aren't really happy to stay for another half hour, that she can take the steak off my bill and I can have the steak. Not wanting angry staff, I chose to accept the removal of the steak off bill option. Manager not particularly pleasant. She seemed upset with me.
I left most of the second set of potatoes I ordered because they're just so bland. Left all the steak that was burnt and had tons of gristle in it.
Very slow service, unattentive staff.
You'll see in a photo of exactly what I didn't eat.
I left hungry.
Would not recommend nor would I return.
Very dissapointed with the food, and pretty angry I'm still hungry.
I paid the price you see on the bill and STILL feel it was too much. That's how bad the food was. Yet the price it would have been had I not complained, would be £52.20.
I didn't complain about the bland potatoes, and pathetic excuse for chargrilled veggies and the salad, for fear they'd think I was trying to get...
Read moreThe establishment offers an impressive and extensive menu featuring a wide variety of steak options.
For a reasonable price of £20, one can indulge in a delectable steak and a refreshing cocktail.
The diverse selection of appetisers and starters is sure to tantalise the taste buds, whetting the appetite for the main course.
The accompanying sides and sauces further enhance the steak-dining experience, providing a multitude of flavour combinations.
The £20 steak and cocktail offering includes a rump steak, with the option to upgrade for a more premium cut.
The cocktail selection encompasses the entire menu, including the delectable Long Island iced tea, which proved to be a delightful choice.
A complimentary lettuce wedge with a choice of sauce is provided, adding a touch of confusion yet a delight to the meal.
An additional order of mashed potatoes with camembert cheese was made, incurring a small upgrade fee.
Regrettably, the establishment had run out of new potatoes, leaving chips as the only alternative.
Despite this minor inconvenience, the mashed potatoes with camembert cheese proved well worth the additional cost.
A unique and delectable item called an onion loaf is also included with the meal, adding another layer of culinary enjoyment.
One member of our party encountered a discrepancy in the preparation of their steak, as it arrived medium well done instead of the requested medium rare.
The staff promptly addressed the issue by replacing the entire meal, ensuring that the corrected steak was cooked to perfection.
However, a significant oversight occurred as the accompanying sides were served stone cold, diminishing the overall dining experience for the affected individual.
Apart from this isolated incident, the culinary offerings were truly exceptional.
In light of the aforementioned shortcomings, I find it necessary to deduct one star from my...
Read moreVisited miller many times but not one occasion worse than this. We were our for our friends birthday, table of four. My partner and i love a steak and know how we like it cooked. Food came out and both our steaks were well done when we asked for rare. I don’t like to waste food but when you are paying £45.00 each for a steak, small portion of fries, a dried up piece of onion loaf that has been sat under a heat lamp for four years and an entire lettuce wedge….. you would like to enjoy what you have ordered. We sent them back, clearly over cooked, to be told the manager hadn’t been to steak school so didn’t know it was over done. The next steak came out, I think it was the same steak. The manager said it was the cows fault and it didn’t have enough blood…… After being so embarrassed going back and forth with said manager and all the other people in the restaurant looking over, completely ruining our friends birthday I told them to send them back and I wasn’t going to pay for the food we hadn’t eaten. Me and my partner both walked away hungry. We tried to pay for our drinks at the bar and they said if we didn’t pay for our food as well that they would call the police as a walk out! Obviously my friends and I where not happy with this threat. To save face we were asked to leave and are now barred from this restaurant. Not that we would ever go back. I have heard of a few other people having a similar experience unfortunately. I was informed that in the morning the same day the fridges failed and instead of throwing out produce that had been sat at room temperature for hours they were told to keep it in the fridge and serve it. Disgusting! Anyway Miller, try and do better, you have lost good customers due to your...
