I like to get a frappe to go on my way home after a difficult night shift at the Cumberland infirmary’s costa coffee and despite being tired I always ask politely and smile and try to make polite conversation however every morning I am greeted behind the counter with a face that would turn the milk sour I know we all have bad days but this lady is the same every time bluntly “what do you want ? what size no I’m not doing those as I’m on my own “ absolutely appalling customer relations if you just smile love your day will be so much nicer which I’m sorry but said out loud this morning. Some may be people who have been sitting with a poorly relative or perhaps had some awful news you’ll probably not be bothered but I will in future get mine from the machine before I put up with your sour face again as for the rest of the staff it’s a shame for you as it’s impossible not to notice. Costas, you could at least change your opening hours to reflect the reality of the situation.
