The Hub (Cafe & Soft Play) — Restaurant in Charnwood

Upon visiting the Hub we found it to be extremely crowded. We booked a session but no one checked us in, the well laid out play area was packed. I counted 30 plus children and approx 65 adults in our session. Staff wandered from the cafe end right through the busy soft play area with hot drinks not even on a tray dodging through adults and children. The bouncy castle sits at one end of the building un-restrained with full access to the fan motor and electrical supply. The fixed time session didn’t seem to matter as more people turned up part way through and of course no one to check them in or out. Adults sat around the ball pit or in it and there didn’t seem to be a member of staff checking or moving adults on. This meant the exit of the slide then was unusable. It stated that you needed to remove footwear, but some children were still in outdoor footwear on the equipment and a lot of adults walking around in outdoor shoes in and around the equipment areas. The extremely small carpark means clients are shunting to park and get in or out. The entrance door open out on to the carpark but there isn’t a barrier to stop adults or children from stepping straight into the path of a car. In short it felt like an accident waiting to happen, it’s a great place but a few things need addressing to bring this into line with Health & Safety and care at other soft...

We had our little boys 1st birthday party here a couple of weeks ago. From booking the party to the day itself, Izzie and the team were absolutely brilliant! They asked for our theme and they decorated the room to perfection! I was super impressed with how they had set the room up, I didn’t have to do a thing! The picnic table and food grazing platters for the children looked beautiful! They also accommodated for children who were vegetarian and dairy free with no problems. The children all loved the play areas and bouncy castle. All our guests were extremely impressed with it all, and had all commented on how lovely Izzie and her team were. I have 2 year old twins and I get quite anxious taking them places on my own as they often run in 2 different directions. I decided to try out the Early Years Hub and it was fantastic. The children were happily entertained by the play equipment and I could sit and enjoy a drink and grab 5 minutes peace. I also love that unlike many soft play centres the food is actually nice rather than greasy nuggets and chips. My parents have since taken them to the stay and play on a Tuesday where they have a different theme each time and also commented and said it was the nicest place they have taken them so far.
