Went in for dessert since itās convenient this evening around 7.30pm. Walked in and asked for menu from the guy and he didnāt hear me. Had his back behind me, then I repeated myself thinking perhaps he didnāt hear me. There was another guy there too, probably āfriendsā or driver. So I repeated for the menu and as opposed to saying āsorry I didnāt hear youā or along them lines. Guy goes āwhat.ā So 3rd time I repeat do you have a menu, and lo and behold, āwhat.ā Then 4th time and angrily I exclaimed where is the menu and this time he goes āitās Infront of me.ā Of course that would annoy anyone, especially if thereās someone serving with no manners. I of course turned around and explained thereās a way to speak to someone and pointed out questioning if his āfriendā could hear me and the friend said yes. So Iām not sure what difference was it to him. This guy then went on about how he said āwhatā to anyone and all other customers and theyāre fine. Iām very sure when you repeat what to the same person 4-5x anyone in their right sane mind would switch. Then he goes on about him being from another country and his not use to saying pardon and all of that which made me laugh a bit because Iām of ethnic background too but there is something called a bit of mannerism. So I said we gonna replay this and I will go outside and come back in and we will retry. I replayed the scenario and instead of saying āwhatā he immediately goes here is the menu without me asking him. Dead place, thought I would try them since theyāre next door to me but this guy is an embarrassment. Review the CCTV then reply back to this message if you want me to speak to your manager and resolve this amicably.. but from my side Iāll tell my lots to avoid this place like a plague. We sat by the window waiting and it still hasnt turned up by 22:20. I called them 4 times and no answer ans then i went through the live chat and they were still unresponsive. We chscked their website and it said it was closed which was confusing as they accepted our order on deliveroo and said it was being delivered ? We wasted all thay time and then at 22:40 we tried again and they finally picked up and said their driver was having trouble to locate us. The driver was on the same road as our delivery address, he just had to walk a few more houses down the street. My first issue is the size of the cake slices vis a vis the price. For a bigger slice than what Treat Shop offers, I know of a couple of other shops that have more competitive prices. I usually donāt have issues with how businesses choose to price their products but Treat Shop is not offering value for money. The second issue is how astonishingly dry the cakes were. I bought three slices and have had to bin them all because they were so, so dry. Again, Iām led back to the issue of value for money.
