What a terrible experience with disgraceful service and a manager with a very bad attitude. Table was booked for 12:30, we went to order at 1:00 but were told (by the manager) to come back to order food in 5 minutes because they were busy - I counted 9 people sat in the bar/restaurant... I went back to order at 1:15 where the manager continued to make excuses with how busy they were because they only had the sous chef in the kitchen so had to send her two front of house staff to the kitchen to help out... WHAT?? Firstly, I don't care (why is the manager sharing this in that manor) why is this now my problem? Secondly, busy(??) with what exactly... there were only 3 food orders and one of them were sandwiches...? After chasing our food twice and being told there was a 30 minute wait on the food (it has already been 30 minutes and we weren't the only ones chasing) we were then told that they didn't have all the ingredients for the meals we ordered and had to make substitutes!? Half of the menu wasn't available because of a messed up delivery (which was then subsequently printed on paper and stuck to the till!) The food finally came at 2:20. Over an hour later. I ordered Chilli Noodles and I got beansprouts, peppers, peas and a spot of cabbage drowning in sweet chilli sauce - my friend ordered Pesto and Basil Pasta with Asparagus and she got pasta and broccoli with not enough pesto to taste. We did complain to a member of staff who was very understanding and said she would speak to the manager and reduce the bill to reflect our experience. The manager came marching over with the bill and said that she would give us 10% off because we had to wait. An apology wasn't offered and we didn't think £2 off was good enough really. It wasn't a pleasant lunch - our babies (8 & 11 months) were fed up, having been sat still in high chairs for 2hrs and 20 minutes. We disputed the bill and said that £2 off wasn't good enough. The manager said that was all we were going to get - we continued to dispute it but the manager became argumentative which we didn't want to entertain so we said, if you think £2 off is fair, then we will pay and leave but never return. At that point she marched off. We paid, we left...

No staff so service slow. Assistant manager has to ask the waitress how to do her job, assistant manager surly and rude. Food poor. Asked for a medium rare steak got it well done. Lasagne small and microwaved to within an inch of its life whilst garlic bread stone cold. Had to wait an hour at 6.15pm on a Tuesday night not great. We were not the only ones complaining others left before their meals arrived because it was taking so long. Considering most of the food is thrown on a grill or in the microwave doesn’t make sense. Also asked not to have peas or chips because I don’t like them asked if I could swap them out, was told I can take things off FOC but would have to pay for upgrades pointed out I wasn’t asking for an upgrade just a swap, not allowed would have to pay extra. Not very accommodating then limits your choice of options on the menu unless you want to pay an additional £2.29 for each so called upgrade, so to swap chips and peas to salad and mash/potatoes an extra £4.58 even though not getting any additional food!!!!!! Assistant manager was very rude and called my sister a liar but when I said it was ironic that the assistant manager had to call upon the waitress to show her how do do things she went into a rant, very professional, not. We then proceeded to get a whole back story from the waitress about how she had been there so long but didn’t want the responsibility of being a manager. At the end of the day I don’t care we just wanted a decent meal at a fair price within a reasonable time without attitude from the assistant manager. Surely these managers should be trained before they are let loose on the public and left in charge. Went home feeling disappointed and hungry. Will not be rushing back or...

By far the worst food I've ever eaten. I had a mixed grill and my chicken had no moisture, my steak was well done when I asked for medium, the chips were cold, and the eggs were moderately over cooked. The best part of my mixed grill was the sausage. The sausage was moist and tasty. They also forgot my peppercorn sauce, and charged me for it. I had to ask to have it removed from the bill.

We had garlic ciabatta with cheese and these were great.

I was with a party of 6 and my oldest daughter even thought the food was garbage. My youngest daughter was served a kids burger where the bun was so hard it would crumble in my fingers. After two attempts to correct this the supervisor said they wouldn't be able to fix it and gave up. The burger was overcooked and had no flex in it because it was so hard.

My parents had burgers and they had no moisture and were overcooked and the chips were cold.

My wife had haddock and chips and the fish was ok but again the chips were cold.

We did eat the food, so it is edible, but only because we waited so long for it. In light of us eating the food, I didn't ask for a refund because we did eat it.

I'll never eat here again... The supervisor, in response to being told both my dad and I had cooked in places for a living, was that "maybe we had higher standards" 😂. Hilarious.

I had a selection of cask ales here and they were ok. All ales tasted like the bottom of the barrel but sometimes you're at the bottom of the barrel.

The atmosphere here was great, though, and I'd go back to drink keg based ales whilst avoiding the food. Banbury has great take out food for delivery at a reasonable price, so why eat...
