Riverside Club — Restaurant in Chesterfield

Been coming here 12 yrs and today I got attitude from the Sunday Carvery Server 25/02/24, using the excuse hes had a long week so he thinks its ok to be obnotious to customers . ( Dont take your personal stuff and moods out on customers its bad for business be professional).

Extremely poor standards of customer service score 0 also 0 for customer satisfaction also , the young man totally ruined our Sunday meal out !!!

It would of been a total fail as a mystery shopper score on customer service . ( He ruined it with his bad attitude for the hard work of the rest of the Team I also might add !!!!!.)

Clearly this young man has lack of people skills and does not set good example to the younger members of staff to learn from at all, if he thinks its ok to be obnotious to customers as the standards set !

Extremely poor considering customers pay for a service instead they get bad bratty attitude ,this will loose footfall within this business if this young mans attitude isnt reigned in as made the place feel unwelcoming and unapproachable to come for a meal , customers money can be spent else where that offers a friendlier service and welcoming environment !

Customers miss the other friendly man that does the Sunday Cavery also that pops in and out to fill the trays ( hes worked here years ) , hes far more professional to serve customers (Front Facing Role)and makes everyone feel welcome than the obnotious young man currently doing it with a severe attitude problem!

Ps people sat eating meals dont want to hear also the young mans voice also bellowing across the room whilst eating our meals which are ment to be enjoyable and pleasurable experience ,instead were having to listen to him gobbing off , being patronising to the younger female staff saying u alright darling , loud enough for it to agrivate customers trying to chill out at Sunday lunch ( clear lack of professionalism all round by this young man) . These young girls should be treated more respectfully by this young man addressed with a less sexist remark infront of paying customers and it is a big no no within the workplace ! He need reminding of your company policy and procedures as well as workplace legislation and law of how colleagues should be treated respectfully and customers also for...

Big match on and they had 2 young girls behind the bar who were very slow and can't have been there long as when asked a few questions they said they didn't know. Took ages to get served and they served people who had pushed in so wasn't taking note of who had been there awhile. Went to get the carvery and the plates were wet and dirty. Nobody on there for ages either so we just stood examining the plates which all had food stuck to them. Didn't find one clean plate. Dishwasher obviously not cleaned them properly and they were not dried as water all over them. Beef was dried like a prune and only a bit of turkey left so we asked to swap for something off the menu instead. Food came out pretty quickly to be fair but think the carvery man was also cooking the meals as people who had been waiting for him to cut the meat ended up cutting the meat themselves. Ordered chicken in a basket and a kids chicken chips and peas. The young waitress asked who the chicken was for and I said we've ordered kids chicken and chips and chicken in a basket so she gave the plate to my granddaughter. 5 min later and I'm still waiting so asked the waitress and she said the chicken in a basket is coming. It turned up and it was a kids chicken nuggets meal. Granddaughter had then smothered my chicken in ketchup so I complained and got told the chef is stressed so she can't do anything so I ended up having to eat a kids portion due to them giving the wrong meal to the small person. The whole thing was a farce from beginning to end. I felt sorry for the staff as not their fault. Whoever was in charge needs demoting . Met a friend (4 adults 2children)for dinner here as he highly recommend it. What an absolute joke. We was told to be there for 2:30. Was told a tabled would be cleared for us. Waited 20 minutes and still no service or table. The tables in the function room where not cleared by anyone. After waiting for a while longer we just picked a table cleared it ourself as I had two hungry young child as well. Went to get our carvery and was stood 15 minutes waiting for the chef to come cuts the meats. Again after awhile of waiting I went to ask where the chef was and got a rely he's serving drinks in the other side. ( shouldn't the chef be on the food side) after waiting over 45 minutes we just took what meat there was cut and started with the rest of the meal. My son who doesn't like Sunday dinner ordered sausage and chips. We had nearly finished our meal and had to ask where his meal was. It was sat on the side and was Luke warm..
