Service started great however there was only 1 other table there when we arrived. Food was underwhelming, crostini’s were so hard I had to leave some, one steak was slightly under cooked, the other was over cooked. Red wine sauce tasted like bisto with a shot of cheap cooking wine in it, the pepper sauce wasn’t very peppery. Desserts were beautifully presented however there were no descriptions for them on the menu so we were surprised when the chocolate wreck was full of caramel. As the restaurant got busier the service went dramatically down hill. Our second round of drinks took 10 minutes to arrive , and we waited 20 minutes to order desserts after receiving the dessert menus. These wait times wouldn’t normally have been an issue in an understandably busy period, however there were 8 members of staff on for front of house, which were mostly stood at the bar doing nothing. Overall, our experience was less than impressive for the price paid, even with the Facebook offer discount there was no value for money. EDIT in response to owners reply : I have left 3 other reviews for different places, 2/3 were 5 stars and completely honest. An owner should be rectifying issues and complaints, not belittling your customers for telling the truth. Honesty hurts when you know your failing! I eagerly await your response 🙂

Can't fault the experience at The Galleon. A colleague booked here for an evening get together and as someone that loves Steaks I was very intrigued to try it out, but cautious as well as a lot of steak restaurants don't know how to cook a steak properly (grill marks instead of a proper sear and crust). Thankfully this was no issue at The Galleon and I could fault my perfectly cooked 45oz T-Bone steak, my only disappointment was that the place was so fancy that I couldn't pick up the remains of the steak with my hands to eat the meat that was close to the bone 🤣 - but that isn't a bad thing! The thick cut chips were brilliant and seemed either double or triple cooked, nice and crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the outside, how they should be. Starter of prawn cocktail was freshly prepped including the salad and the desert of baileys cheesecake was a nice way to finish off. Staff were great and the interior of the place was very nice. I thought the value was very good considering the quality, yes it's not cheap but I don't mind paying a bit more as long as the quality is good. There's some steakhouses that I've been to in Manchester that charge more and are just for show with poor quality food. I'll definitely be returning.

Well where to start, we ordered starters of the tempura chicken with sweet chill and crab cakes. The chicken was tough and a bit dry, and the batter was very hard, so was not a good start. When ordering the mains I asked the waitress what the steak was that the guy on the next table was having and was told it was a rib eye which it wasn't. I also queried the contents of the long island ice tea cocktail that was listed on the drinks menu as I have had a lot in my time and it wasn't in my opinion how it should be made. The waitress went to ask her managers who said they add triple sec but it wasn't listed, and it normally has tequila, which wasn't there. For the mains I ordered the rib eye and cod. Cod looked OK, rib eye was a bit over cooked. Overall it was OK but in comparison to a lot if other places I have been it doesn't stand out for example if you were to try smoke bbq in Sheffield and compare. This is just my take in things and of course everyone has there own opinion so by all means try the place.

Went for an anniversary meal with some friends as we had never been before we didn’t know what to expect, when we walked in we got our drinks and were allocated to our seats. The seating area was dark and didn’t have much lighting and we thought it wasn’t great for eating in a dark area but the whole place was like this not just where we was sat. We then ordered food and waited for it to come, the food and service was good but the prices were extortionate for what we got, I had the burger and asked for a few extras each extra was £2 on top which I thought was expensive for things like cheese which you’d get as standard at most other places. I ordered onion rings with my burger as an extra which I didn’t receive but still got charged for them on the bill. Our friend had the fillet steak which looked nice but again £35 for 8oz of steak is a bit pricey and the fact he got charged an extra £5 just for garden peas with his meal was just to far. The prices seem to differ on the online menu compared to the menu inside the restaurant, once inside they seem more expensive we realised this on a few items. Overall the place is a bit overrated for what it is, the food is good and the staff are as well but the prices definitely need to be looked into on certain items. I’m sorry I feel this way but I feel that there is better places out there when it comes to value for money, this is my opinion but everyone has their...

After a gleaming recommendation from a friend, I decided to try the Galleon steak house. I looked at the reviews and noticed some of them were very negative. After trying, I would like to clear up some issues that were mentioned. first was that it is expensive. admittedly, it is not the cheapest place for steak, however, I was a butcher for many years, and understand that good quality meat comes at a cost. I had the T-bone, and it was superb, it was clearly a very good cut of beef, and well matured, which leads me to another comment about the colour of the meat, I did notice the beef looks slightly off colour, which I believe is due to the meat being hung for along time, and is therefore more mature, the meat did not seem off at all, and was in fact one of the best steaks I have ever eaten, (I have eaten a lot of steaks in my time as a butcher, perks of the job). The rest of the meal was fantastic, so much care has gone into it, fresh ingredients, cooked by a skilled chef, honestly, every bit of food on that plate was delicious. So to summarise, yes it costs more than some other restaurants, however, you can clearly see where your money is going, which is on the quality ingredients, and the skilled staff. The service was also very good, very welcoming, and a nice...
