Starbucks Coffee — Restaurant in Chesterfield

Painfully slow service at the drive-thru. This would have been made considerably worse by my experience at "the window". After presenting my debit card for payment and waiting for what seemed like ages, I was shocked to be told my card payment hadn't processed!! Knowing my account had the funds I said "okay just give me the "declined" slip an I'll pay by cash" The guy serving said " oh Im sorry it hasnt printed one!" "I find this of concern then mate. How do I know it was declined?" "You'll have to take my word for it. Just pay again - keep your receipt and if you have paid twice, come back and we'll refund you" "I'm not going to drive back 130 miles from home for my refund" So I pay again am gven the order and the guy looks at me with disdain. "Can I have the receipt then please?" "Oh sorry it hasn't printed one" So I hurriedly open up my online banking and fortunately it is there to see TWO identical transactions. I show the guy, then there is much muttering among staff members and a refund is handed to me WITHOUT A WORD SPOKEN!! No apology whatsoever - not a word. I drive away sarcastically saying loudly "Thank You" by way of ending the 'non-conversation'. On the plus side I received my £17.40 refund - the coffee was great and the panini tasty. Popped into Starbucks with my daughter around 10oclock they wasnt busy.so ordered a skinny flat white and a filter coffee for my daughter. The filter coffee wasnt ready well fair enough but they kept her waiting at counter, id sat down with mine. still waiting what was the problem why wasnt it setup? Finally the lad behind asked her what she was waiting for and said sit down well shout you when its ready ,mine was drunk. Why couldn't they bring it out? So understaffed. 2 people were juggling drive thru orders and people standing at the till to order. We waited for about 9 mins until we got served. All on the tables there were mugs and plates waiting to be picked up due to short staffed. We wanted to sit but every table we see was just not cleaned up so we headed out. Majority of the people that came in headed out could be as the table still had dirty dishes. Poor customer service. The lady thay served us after waiting for so long had no smile on her face no enthusiasm. I felt like she was dragged into work to work. Wouldn't go to that...
