Smokeys Ocean Bar — Restaurant in Chichester

We ordered 4 drinks 2 Smokey’s hotdogs and 2 jacket potatoes and cheese & beans at 20:55pm 5minutes before the kitchens closing time. When ordering our food I could barely hear the bar tender asking him to repeat himself as it wasn’t clear what he was saying , The food came out promptly But there was only 3 meals , I asked the waiter what was happening with the 4th meal a jacket potato for the kids , he came back to the table and said I hadn’t ordered it, which was very frustrating as everyone had food but my 4 year old , The waiter then told me I could not order for my daughter as the kitchen had closed , so with my daughter not having food we were not going to proceed to eat and make her watch. I then went up to the bar and said to the tender we need to leave as my daughter has no food , we had not touched any of the 3 meals that arrived . I asked for a refund for the untouched food I was happy to pay for the 4 drinks , they had me waiting at the bar for nearly 10 minutes waiting for a manager , manager Comes out and I explain my situation politely , the Manager is very blunt and says I’m not happy to refund you as my colleague read back the order to you and you confirmed it even tho his colleague agreed I couldn’t hear him as the music is so loud , I have never felt so angry and mistreated and basically done over for £46 that the manager basically said eat it or leave it either way he don’t care , so at this point I’m reminding myself to keep cool as my kids holiday was the only thing that would of been jeopardise by this situation , so I would highly not recommend using this Smokey’s bar at all and after this encounter I don’t think we will be coming and to...

This restaurant is in a great location, overlooking the sea, but unfortunately whenever I visit, which is at least once a week, the tables are dirty. I watched the waiter cleaning the table and he used one of the menus to scrap the dirty food off the table and on to the floor. Then he just put the menu back into the menu holder, I can't believe what I had just witnessed. On very visit, I have to ask a waiter to clean the table and, even, then, it's never cleaned properly. They spray an awful chemical cleaner into the air, most of it ends up on yourself then onto the table. I watched a waiter cleaning a table opposite and he sprayed the cleaning product practically into the faces of the customers. It would also be much nicer if there was a choice of wine, the wine on offer is very cheap and tasteless. I would rather pay more and drink a better quality wine! Decided to try smokeys after eating at Nathan's 2 days before.

So glad we did, we at around 15.30 after swimming so we managed to get some bits off the grazing menu.

4 kids had hot dogs £4.99 each 2 portion chips Lattice fries with fried eggs 1 Greek salad and extra Jacket Spud Filthy onion rings --- (so tasty would highly recommend) Brisket stacker 2 apple slaws

Tasted really fresh and full of flavour, the brisket was melt in your mouth.

Onion rings were really crunchy soft fresh onion in the middle (not mushy processed) and not over cooked!

Hotdogs- they were tightly packed with meat loads of cheese sauce. Kids couldn't finish them.

Salad - extremely fresh but possibly a little too much vinegar if I need to be critical.

Lattice fries very tasty but the salsa makes them soggy very quick. (But still worth having ) not too spicy.
