Came for food this evening, when we arrived the lady behind the bar said to find a table and order at the bar, once we sat down I realised the table hadn’t been cleaned, I looked past it and thought maybe they had been busy. Until I looked at the ones around us which were also full of salt and generally unclean, which it was evident clear. We sat down and realised no tables had any menus, we had to find them ourselves. We ordered food and drinks at the bar as requested. Starters came which were passable. Battered mushrooms and cheesy garlic bread. The lettuce with the mushrooms was starting to brown so didn’t look as appetising. Our plates were cleared but not once were we asked if our food was ok or if we had any comments (working in hospitality myself I know this is a big must and it’s a chance for guests to give feedback) We then had mains gammon and a double beef burger. As these arrived we had to ask for condiments as none were offered and there was none to be seen. The gammon was under satisfying and the burger just tasted like it was a cheap burger from McDonald’s, very little taste. Priced at £16.95 for each meal if I was to pay that I wouldn’t have been happy. I understand we paid £16.95 for both meals as it’s a 2 for 1 but the food alone wasn’t worth what we paid. We have been to other marsdens chains and have always had a lovely meal. It’s a shame as I paid £35.00 to walk away leaving half of my food and with very little hospitality off the staff.

Popped in for a bite to eat with my girlfriend We both ordered a mixed grill and a cold cola. The place was clean, social distancing measures in place and we got a lovely surprise when the food arrived. So this mix grill comprised of a thick really tasty burger, a large succulent tender large piece of chicken (larger than normal due them running out of sausages after a really busy day) a small. piece of tasty Lamb , delicious bacon, a large piece of gammon, two fried egg, onion rings, English tomato, chunky chips and forgive me if I've forgotten anything. All the food was hot, and apart from perhaps the fact I don't like gammon anyway I'd of struggled to eat it, its a great meal. I washed it down with a creamy latte.. One of the best parts of our visit, when I got to the till I was expecting to pay about £55 hadn't realised it was 50% off but then on top of that we got two for one I paid just shy of £14! Including drinks! But by far the best thing was the Attentive staff. Although they all looked dead on their feet after what had been a busy day, they were brilliant. Nothing was too much bother, very friendly and well presented. They are a credit to Fieldfare. Thank you so much we will be back.

Loved it here. This pub is great and has a nice big car park that's free too. The food is great and we enjoyed every bite. I had a big group of 16 and everyone was very happy. There was lots for the children to do, some computer games to play with learning games on and colouring in also toys to play with. The toilets were clean. The pub was clean, warm, and spacious. The staff were very friendly, kind and welcoming. I would definitely come again when I'm next visiting. We celebrated my mums birthday, and Paul Cassell went to extra trouble to make it special. He went the extra mile the whole evening making sure we were happy, where we were seated, that we liked the food, asked if we needed anything more, making sure my Mams dessert had a candle in it and brought out at the right time. Paul was just so attentive, and I think that makes a big difference. He also had a lovely chat with us when ordering our food and made us laugh. Great service given. Perfect evening!

We travelled up from Nottingham to see my husband's parents and thought we'd treat them to a meal at the Field Fayre. The pub was quite deserted for a Saturday afternoon close to Christmas. Where do I begin.... I ordered lasagna with garlic bread, they then came across to the table to say they had no garlic bread, the lasagna just tasted like plain minced beef with soggy pasta sheets, no Italian herb flavours and microwaved to within an inch of its life. My husband and mother-in-law had gammon, the fat on the gammon hadn't even been browned so they had to just cut it off. Pubs like this usually pile your plate high with chips to make it look like a large meal but I think chips were on ration at this pub, more like a young child's portion. A disappointing almost egg cup sized portion of pepper sauce. We order desserts and they then came over to the table to say they didn't have the sticky pudding that we'd ordered so we ordered chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. They then came to the table and said they only had two portions of that. We then ordered Irish coffees and they didn't have any cream for that so the coffees were served in a cup with squirty cream on the top with separate glass of whiskey. A thoroughly disappointing visit. The pub locked like it was about to close down for good and they were just using the stock up. Maybe closing down wouldn't...

Upon entry to the venue i was very surpised at how clean and well presented it was With the weather being warm thwre was a few people ourside We was a larger group of 8 people I had booked a table online in advance which was a smooth simple process We was seated and we took a look at the menu the variety that was available was great considering we had a mix of ages in out group At the bar we played an order for drinks each drink was prepared exactly how we asked for it Then came the food order Every mean we asked for was available We didn't have to wait too long before the food arrived at the table and wow it all looked delicious The steaks that were ordered were cooked to exactly how they was asked to be cooked so hats off to the chef each meal went down a treat no complaints at all Back to the bar to order deserts and they seem to arrive in record time only mistake was my own of asking for no sauce on the apple crumble but when I explained this to the server he was more than happy to go prepare another with out any hesitation or fuss to which we was very grateful for The whole time we had a bar tab open and it made the expiernce even easier so when it came to paying we had a voucher to redeem too All the staff we encounter were polite helpful and well presented Thank you for making this experience great We will be back...
