We love visiting this beautiful Hall. It's our third visit. They now charge to enter, none locals £5 per adult, Chorley locals get a discounted price. The guides were really friendly and very knowledgeable about the property. Well worth a visit as there are some beautiful ceilings, paintings and tapestries to see. The walled garden is lovely too. There's a popular cafe (Cafe Ambio) next to the Hall that serves excellent food and a good coffee, a couple of play areas for the kids to let off steam and a lovely woodland walk if you've got some energy left. There's parking a short walk away but it can get busy. It now has a height barrier so no room for motorhomes and street parking is limited. Sadly the carpark is abused by commuters using it as free parking all day. It's pot luck on the day. We were ok today, there seemed to be quite a few spaces...

Whilst unable to access the upper floors of the house due to being wheelchair bound at the moment, I cannot commend the staff and guides high enough for their patience and genuine care that was shown by them. This is coupled by their evident passion and knowledge of the house which joined with my own passion for history . It is a beautiful building inherently steeped and linked with our social, artistic and political history over millennia that is frequently unseen. One cannot help be deepened in amazement at the work of the manifold artisans and craftspeople who produced the furniture and art work alongside the ordinary items of past everyday life Truley this is a wonderful treasure set amidst a beautiful setting which when fully ambulant we will be returning to to fully explore and both absorb and be absorbed by

Once again, thank you...

We had our wedding day here. It was beautiful from beginning to end. The surroundings are beautiful. Well kept gardens. Stunning views. My only complaint would be the lack of interaction on the day from the lady who was dealing with the ceremony. She was supposed to be there when myself father and bridesmaids walked in to guide us with timing. Also was supposed to announce to the guests that they could walk around the hall and museum. Never gave us or the guests any guidance into the confetti timing, 1st toast or even to take the photographer around to do certain shots and walk around with us to ensure we got all the photos we required. Highly disappointed in that aspect of the day...

Took our grand children yesterday, imagine the surprise... Park closed!!! All that was open was the cafe, everything else was blocked off, no access to the park, because people was setting up for the flower show. We was told if we wanted to access the play area for children we had to follow the footpath which was on the edge of the housing estate. However when we finally got there, our 7yr old grandson really enjoyed himself, but there's nothing for the younger children.
