We went to Jamun Tree tonight (mothers day) and we were a table of 7.

We all had a beautiful meal - pompadoms, starters and mains the cheesecake desserts looked amazing but we were all too full.

Pompadoms were lovely and fresh with tasty homemade chutneys.

Starters were all very tasty- mixed starter, fish pakoras, paneer tikka, onion bhaji, chicken chaat.

Mains we had a selection of curries, rice, naans, chips, grilled fish dish, steak (which was too spicy and the staff happily rectified it and brought out a fresh dish within minutes which was perfect).

Overall a beautiful meal!

Some teething issues with service being on the slower side and having to ask for top up of drinks and for our order to be taken but that’s expected as it was the first busy weekend.

We will definately be returning, they don’t serve alcohol but are happy for you to bring your own with a corkage charge of £1 per person.

In our party we had two dietary needs, vegetarian and dairy allergy- both catered for with no concern, nice to see an Indian restaurant cooking a veggie dish with fresh vegetables not a frozen veg...

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! We ate here for the first time just 3 weeks ago. When we arrived we were seated on a tiny table for two, shoved right next to other customers, practically touching elbows. We ordered our food, it arrived and one meal was wrong! The curry’s weren’t great either, flavourless. At the end of our meal we asked the two girls to take half of our meals home to eat the day after. They somehow did not understand this very basic & simple request and boxed up the very small amount of curry & rice what was left on our plate instead of the rest of the curry that was clearly still in the bowl that we asked for. After getting home and realising this had happened, we very quickly rang the establishment and spoke to the owner JJ. He was very friendly and quick to apologise and offer us a free takeaway due to a mistake and poor service on their behalf. However, 3 weeks later when we come to order, they say they’ve never come across this and bluntly refused this as they claimed this never happened. So honestly, don’t waste your money here! The service is awful and the food is mediocre also on the pricier side compared to other local...

Booked in for dinner at 8.15. Wasn't told on booking by phone that it was bring your own drinks so was a bit disappointed but made do with acceptable alcohol free drinks. Poppodums came about 10 minutes after ordering and were delicious. Then we waited and waited and waited for starters and had to chase them up. We got them an hour after ordering and one was the wrong item. Despite me saying I'd accept it they insisted on bringing another starter out. They were OK. Then we waited and waited and waited for the main course. Eventually after forty minutes we bailed. We cancelled the rest, paid the bill for what we'd had and left. They gave us the mains as a takeaway free but we'd lost our appetite by then. There was no music or any atmosphere. We weren't the only people in that night that had issues as we could regularly hear the waiters apologising. The food is good, they clearly can cook and have evident experience of running a takeaway but being a restaurant is just out of reach at the moment. I'm hoping it...
