Excellent meal. Tasty, different and healthy.First time we came had a pumpkin soup, tasty mixed salad (including greens, Edamame beans, olives, rice and teriyaki chicken) rocky road cake and spiced pumpkin latte (pushed the boat out as it was a special occasion, but you can have as much or as little as you like, e.g. toasted fruitbread.) Second time, Caeser salad. Delicious. Beautiful, well thought out decor and a restful, positive vibe. You just keep on spotting things (blankets are available). Varied menu which also caters well for those with alternative choices and needs. We had just come back from holiday and the Bees' kitchen helped us continue in that mood. Impressed by the relatively short menu being supplemented by a specials list. The Bees' kitchen has a good eye for using themes, such as special meals for special occasion. Also an impressive range of things to buy, some of which are made there. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be going again and can see it fast becoming one of our...
Read moreCame here on recommendation as my family are vegetarians, Ordered our food and then sat down to eat our food. Whilst sat we observed another customer proceed to get served. The man was cutting meat, when she asked for her food she did mention that she was vegetarian, the meat was pushed to a side and and he wiped his hands on his apron and started to serve her, didn't was his hands even. You could see from her face that she wasn't happy but still she paid for it and sat down, after seeing this my family and myself left our food and left. When walking away we noticed that there where trays of uncovered bread behind his market stall. I don't think this is very hygienic. The guy who served us also has a large beard which was not covered, I'm not an expert but shouldn't this have a net on it. Very disappointed. Will certainly not be eating here again. Vegetarians be Aware. Was unsure whether to post but I think it should...
Read moreOh dear, was expecting better to be honest. The cafe was not busy with about a quarter of the tables filled, no 2 seat tables available. Im not one for moaning about venues if they are clearly under pressure but this day was quiet. The tables where dirty and nobody came round to wipe them so i did it myself with napkins and hand gel. All the tables where dirty and had crumbs on them? I had a very good brew with some quality teabag, no complaints. We ordered 2 English breakfasts and they arrived in due course. I was disappointed in the burnt mushrooms, burnt toast and burnt black pudding. The fried egg was cooked in the same burnt pan so tasted of the previously cremated shrooms. I did not complain as i have already been informed about the defensive owner. Sorry we couldnt enjoy this meal, we...
