Rarely do I write a review unless it was either really good (or bad). In this case the news is good. Fantastic service from the very start for our party of Ten. The food was outstanding. I'm not really a Sunday lunch carvery fan, but when we go back I will be ordering it! It looked great and my young kids demolished it which believe me, is unusual. The rest of the party all enjoyed their food too and it was all very reasonably priced. During service i was informed my pizza had been slightly overcooked so they were making me a new one from scratch. Although I was disappointed to wait longer, it was refreshing to see that kind of honesty and find a place that actually shows pride in their food. Not content with that, they then told me I wouldn't be charged for the pizza as it wasn't served alongside the rest of the party. Couldn't fault the place. Went into pub tonight. Waited 5 minutes to get served with a drink at the bar. Even though it was quiet. Dog running loose. Place stunk. Football was on. Three males sat near bar watching same and their language was atrocious and children nearby. One had a Royal Mail jacket on who was the worst culprit. A disgrace in a public area. We had a lovely Sunday lunch here and it was warm and welcoming. Although it seemed quiet when we arrived at 1.30 it soon got busier which helped with the atmosphere but didn't impact on the service. The food is simple but tasty and good value. As well as Sunday lunch there is a pizza menu for Sundays and we were able to order a gluten free one which was great. Definitely recommend for a traditional setting...
