Yayas Grillhouse — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

We walked into Yayas and we were met with a smile and a welcoming atmospheric. We made our order and we were guided along the way with meal deal & money saving tips by a friendly male with dark hair and beard. We were even informed how long it would take! While we waited, we were involved in general and friendly conversation initiated by the same member of staff. It was a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere.

We got our order, and left with a good friendly attitude. When we got to our Travelodge and opened the food up we were shocked and amazed! The portions were huge! One of us got a BBQ Chicken 7” pizza and the pizza was loaded with toppings! With a side of fries, absolutely brilliant! I got a Lamb Doner 10” and cheesy fries. The fries were loaded with cheese, absolutely delicious and loaded with cheese. The pizza was loaded with lamb doner! I’m trying and failing to not resort to exaggerated text, that pizza was loaded with toppings. I should have taken photos but we were so engrossed in what we were seeing in front of us. Twice I've been here, twice they have got it wrong.

First time we just put it down to an honest mistake, gave me a tikka masala instead of a korma. Not big problem I do like a tikka masala anyway so I just ate it.

Second Time (tonight), I got a bhuna which was lovely. My partner got a chicken palak which they mistook and gave us paneer palak, not what we asked for. I phoned and was politely told that they would sort out a chicken palak for us and phone me when it was ready. The original palak, the sauce was a lot more spicy than the "subtle spicies" described in the menu so we asked if they could just drop the spice level a bit in the new one and make it mild. No problem said the guy.

Got home with the new chicken palak and my partner started eating it, they had clearly made it beyond spicy after asking when we had to phone up to complain about the wrong first order, if we could make it mild. It was definitely not mild! If you do go to this place and they muck it up, don't complain, they will ruin you're night and...

Guy's at work recommended this place, but other guy's slated it, but we gave it a try. Placed order and put in comments to deliver for 9pm it turned up at 8.20pm, l got the juggernaut kebab and it was honking, I've seen sick that looked more appetising than this did, the kebab meat was like shoe leather and the chicken was as tough as old chewing gum. All in all pretty poor and l wouldn't recommend it. Yayas is a no no's from me.

Follow up response, On your website it allows for additional information, in that box l asked for a 9pm delivery so if you didn't read that instruction....not my fault, l didn't collect the food so it wasn't myself you spoke with and the guy you spoke with didn't feel too great after eating his kebab. If I'd known you were delivering an hour earlier I'd have cancelled, the food was bland, it looked horrendous once you got passed the "homemade bread" and opened it up, l genuinely can't see us...
