Lots of potential, beer range is excellent from Colchester Brewery. Might be that we went in about an hour and a bit before quiz night started but there was a slightly strange atmosphere. Not bad but just slightly odd. Worth a look though. Especially with a lot of friends in tow or a quiet couples drink. Not a family oriented place though and no hot food served as there is no kitchen. The whole place needs a lick of paint: the toilet doors have bits of paper with 'Ladies' and 'Gents' written on them and stuck to the door. I get the feeling that they are in the process of slowly doing the place up. Once this is done and with a warmer welcome from the bar staff this place could be fantastic. I'll put it down to work in progress. 3 stars for now but hopefully 5 later...

Sign in to NHS app on entry. Hand sanitizer on table. There are steps down into the garden and to different levels in the garden, but staff will help you and there is some seating at the bottom of the steps.
