Great little Museum. Especially if you are into grandfather clocks. Couldn't escape noticing the incorporation of a deliberately phallic look to one of them, which uses modern clear Perspex/plasic to it - a design being well ahead of its time - no pun intended. Also, the very knowing glint in the eye and roguish smile in the old photo of the gentleman who designed the timepiece, was very telling... Read moreI love this museum so much. The people who work here are so friendly and approachable. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask a member of staff. I sat down and listened to everything that he said. The museum has stairs and also a lift. There are also toilets and a gift shop. The museum is wheelchair...
Read moreI fondly remember visiting Hollytrees as a child, so brought my Home Educated children this afternoon. It has a lovely smart entrance filled with local brochures and leaflets. You then enter through the gift shop and head into the museum portion. There are a few different exhibition rooms including Clocks, Toys, Household items and Victorian times. Our personal favourite was the Household Room due to the dressing up and the kitchen role play. We loved the Old toy room also. Perfect place to spend an hour learning about local history however i do feel like a warmer greeting...
