Dear Blockley Coffee shop,

I would like to draw your attention to an issue I found when visiting the cafe on Monday.

My sister brought me to your cafe to celebrate her daughter's 20th birthday and have a nice birthday breakfast together.

I have left feeling really angry and aggrieved.

I felt it my duty to pay the bill due to the occasion and visiting for the weekend.

We ordered breakfast items with our coffees.

I ordered a Hawaiian smoothie, granola and during the breakfast my niece ordered extra sourdough to go with her chorizo smash.

After leaving and paying the bill of £48 which I thought was on the expensive side for three breakfasts I scrutinised the bill.

I was shocked to find that two slices only of sourdough toast was charged at £5.

Nothing I'm afraid justifys in business overheads, £5 for two slices of toast.

I was also expecting a nicely prepared homemade smoothie for £4.95. Made with the actual fruit contents made with a smoothie machine/bullet device.

To my disappointment, the assistant came out with a small , already purchased plastic bottle of pre made smoothie which in the end tasted of 'kippers' and was most disappointing. Especially when I could have purchased the same small concentrate bottle for £2 from a shop/ garage.

Two days later I was having breakfast in Covent Garden in the centre of our capital and again ordered granola. This was in the centre area surrounded by street artists and was priced at £6.50 as opposed to your £9.95.

I was totally dissatisfied with the quality of yours both in the amount of berries served and the 'packet' granola. The Covent Garden version was one of the best I've ever tasted with clearly homemade granola, good quality and tasty yoghurt with freshly prepared fruit in it's plenty.

I actually made a point of photographing it to send you and my sister to show the difference in both amount and quality for a far cheaper priced serving. 'Poles apart!'

Really disappointed and aggrieved at my visit to your coffee shop.

I look forward to hearing from you with a solution & your...

I recently stayed in Blockley village and the owner of the property I was staying at had recommended Blockley Village Cafe. I'd left it late to make a reservation, calling on the Thursday to try and get a reservation for dinner for the Saturday, unsurprisingly the lady informed me they were fully booked but she asked to take my number incase they had a cancellation. I wasn't very hopefully but true to her word she called me the next day to advise they had a cancellation. My friend and I arrived at 7pm on the Saturday and were warmly greeted and shown to our table upstairs. The venue was small but had a lovely atmosphere. I ordered a Cotswold Garden Gin to drink which was delicious. There was a three course set menu priced at £32.50 with a choice of three starters, three mains and either a desert or cheese board. I went with the Crispy Cackle bean Egg to start, Lamb for main and the Raspberry Parfait for Dessert. We were firstly brought a sour dough roll and Arancini, both of which were delicious and the same can be said for each course that followed. Both my friend and I agreed that the food was outstanding, the lamb simply melted in the mouth. The staff were very pleasant and attentive ensuring everything was okay with our meals or on hand if we required more drinks. I can honestly say this was the best meal / experience I have had in a long time even to the point I would have been happy to pay more for the set meal. Highly recommend and I hope to...

Found this place by chance on a weekend break to the Cotswolds recently and so glad we did...what a fantastic little place for brunch! Up there with one of the best cafes we've been too (and we try out a few!). My partner had the full English which he said was 10/10, the homemade beans show the passion that goes into the menu. I had the eggs benedict, which again, was fantastic. The eggs had the brightest yolks I've ever seen and you could taste the difference! For pudding (yes this was 10am...), I had one of the homemade chocolate donuts which was unreal, I just wish I had bought a few more for the car journey home. Another bonus is they are dog friendly! Such a lovely atmosphere with everyone and their dogs. Thanks for a fabulous visit, the staff, service and food was unfaultable! We can't wait to come back when we are next in the...

If only every village had one of these !(complete with staff) Cafe doubles up as a restaurant by night, also sit outside to have a drink before dinner The chef and staff work very hard, but also appear to enjoy it Set menu starts fresh every month £45 for 5 courses/components including bread, wine also reasonably priced Great to see a thriving cafe/restaurant in an active community Used by the whole village and visitors, and you also have the bonus of a very well stocked shop next door Village features in the TV Series Father Brown Locals Pub is The Crown up the road, fill your boots interacting with customers inside or sit out the front on the bistro tables and AstroTurf 🙂

This place is amazing. Everything is nicely presented and delicious. We tried Blockley Breakfast, Blockley Vegetarian Breakfast and the Chorizo Hash, we enjoyed every bite. About coffee…Quite difficult to find a place that sells good, well balanced Americano. At Blockley Café we had the best Americano and Latte. We will miss this place. Also we ware welcomed with our dog too, which was a big plus for us. However for the people that don’t like to eat where dogs are welcomed. Upstairs are no dogs allowed, you can enjoy your food peacefully. Definitely give this Café a visit.
