Khushi Grill was recommended by a member of our team from our office. It was a little far out around a 20 minute drive. It was great the restaurant has its own car park and we went in around 4.30 PM. To our surprise it was more of a Bar than a restaurant and did not look very promising on arrival as it had no one in the food area. In any case. We looked at he menu and the service was very poor. There was no direction by the staff what to do and then we realised that you have to order near the food area and pay before you sit down. We would not have known this without going directly to the food area and then the bar counter member attended to us. Considering the place was not that busy this could have been better. No menus on the table to understand what the place had to offer and had to find them near the counter area. The menu was not clear and only when we looked the front we realised the place does a Mixed Grill. In the end having found our way round the menu, ordering place, and checking in the cars we ordered a large mixed grill a kheema curry, 2 naans and 2 soft drinks. Total cost came to £35 which sounded very expensive for Coventry. We waited for our order and then were pleasantly surprised the mixed grill was enough for 4 people and was sizzling and the meat was cooked to perfection. Overall, the mixed grill was very good with the sauces to go with it complimented this very nicely. We had around 40% of the mixed grill between 2 of us but very impressive. We then went for the kheema curry with peas and 2 naans. Including a butter naan and kheema naan. The curry was one of the best ive had it was very tasty, medium spice we went for which was just right. The naan was flooded in butter (very much liked this). The curry was my favourite as good as the mixed grill was the curry was very tasty. On completion of our meal we then asked to pack some of the left overs and were given 2 bags which were no way suitable for the mixed grill or the curry or the naans. This was very poor by the member of the team that actually did not look like he cared or understood a curry in a bag would not go! In any case, service we found very poor and a 1 would be a good rating. However, the food was fantastic and quality was at a level of 5. Would look to go back but place needs to sort its service out, customer experience is very poor and no direction was poor to see. However, for the food which is the most important thing it was one of the best ive had.
Fantastic food but poor service and no real...

The signature dish has to be the Methi Chicken, a succulent chicken curry cooked with fresh fenugreek leaves and aromatic spices. The flavor is rich and complex, and the chicken is tender and juicy. You will not regret ordering this dish.
For vegetarians, the mattar paneer is the signature dish. This is a creamy and comforting dish of soft cottage cheese and green peas in a tomato-based gravy. The paneer is homemade and melts in your mouth, while the peas add a nice texture and sweetness. This dish goes well with any of the breads or rice.
Speaking of breads, when the chefs are in a good mood, the special butter naans are out of this world. These are fluffy and buttery and are freshly baked in the tandoor. They are perfect with the curries.
Another highlight of Khushi Grill is the fish pakoras. These are lightly battered, crispy and made with boneless fish pieces. They are very hard to beat, especially when served with mint chutney and lemon wedges. They make a great appetizer or snack.
Khushi Grill is a restaurant that will make you happy with its food, service, and ambiance. The staff are friendly and attentive, the portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is inviting, with plenty of screens showing the most popular football matches. The taste of the food will make you feel like you are in India, without leaving Coventry. Well done to them for adding the additional lighting to the car park.
I highly recommend Khushi Grill to anyone who loves Indian food or wants to try something new. You will not be disappointed. Khushi Grill is a gem of a restaurant that deserves five stars. No other indian bar grill in Coventry even comes close when it comes to flavour and authenticity of the food. Even a hungry elephant would want the food at...
Read moreYou cannot go wrong with Khushi Grill. Having been here on multiple occasions with numerous family members and friends it never fails to disappoint and is always good value. Key points for me as follows:
Parking is free in a good sized car park but make sure to register your licence plate when you get into the restaurant(!)
Very much a 'no-fuss' level of service - sit down, take a look at the menu and decide what you want, go up to the till and order, food is always with you within about 10-15 minutes.
We've never had a dish which disappoints - highlights include the Sizzler platters which always hit the spot. A real surprise is the Butter Chicken which has more flavour than most i've had elsewhere. The Naan breads are always fresh-hot and extremely satisfying.
The desserts are genuinely great! The Chocolate Brownie is a delight and the Gulab Juman is served warm and is not overly sweet (unlike most others elsewhere).
For a Whisky nerd like me the bar is fantastic - amazing drams from all over the world with Scotland and India being well represented of course. Lots of other Beers, Wines and Spirits on offer as well.
If you're looking for a high-end, almost Michelin-type experience then this is not the place for you. But it doesn't pretend to be that sort of place.
If you're looking for the sort of place where you can take some mates or family, enjoy good-value well-flavoured hearty Indian food in an environment where you can easily strike up conversation with other diners and drink some great booze then this is the perfect place for you.
It's why we keep coming back again and...
