We visited on our way home to Kent from Manchester for a late lunch. The restaurant was busy because of the football but when I asked about being in a quieter area, they came back to us when a table was free to offer it. Food was really tasty and good value for money, my husband and I had the chicken sharing platter and there was so much food! I had an ice cream sundae and it was delicious and the kids had massive sundaes. Staff were friendly and welcoming. But best of all was the after care we received. Unbeknownst to us, we left our son's wallet with all his birthday money in on the table. When I realised the next day we didn't have it, I started working my way through all the places we'd been. I rang the pub and spoke to Hayley. She asked me to confirm what type of wallet then said they had it and had been hoping we'd call as they knew it must belong to our little boy as she'd been working the day before and remembered us. She was so friendly and happy for us. She took our details and sent the wallet back recorded delivery (as we live too far away to pop back). I offered to reimburse her but she refused. She then checked n after to make sure we'd received it. We are so pleased there are such honest and helpful people in...
Read moreAbsutly rubbish. Been using the pub for meals for, 14. Years last time it was bad but this time I wouldnt give the food to the dog The made two mistakes at the at till when I ordered a d had to be retold two or three times before it was right the table next to us sent their meal of fish and chips back over cooked. After they had tried to serve her lasagne first. Then they brought lasagne to my husband who also had ordered fish and chips they then placed the fish and chips that had been returned in front of my husband. We refused to eat it. Staff member gave us our money back. The manager did not approach us we had to speak to her. She blamed the shortage of staff the heat among other things. I am a catering manager and chef myself so I was disgusted.. Needs looking into or you will lose many customers. Rating on experience 2 out of ten that was for member of staff who...
Read moreNot a good experience. I placed a order and produced my blue light card to be told I wouldn't get a discount as I had ordered 2 meals for £9.49 and they had already been discounted. I have eaten at various other Hungry horse restaurants and discount has been applied for the same order? I was with a client who has autism so I was unable to refuse service due to her not being able to process the change. Our meal arrived and the pastry on the pie was so hard I was unable to get a knife through it. My client mentioned to a member of staff that her cup had a chip in. The member of staff ( think she was manager but couldn't be certain) did appologise but didn't offer to change the cup? Very poor service. The place was very shabby and could do with a good refurb.
I will not be eating there again or recommending it to anyone.
