Went with my family on a Friday night, ordered onion bhaji starter and popadoms, which came out after 2 minutes of ordering. Onion bhajis were over cooked and dry, were clearly pre cooked and reheated, mint yoghurt dip tasted like salty toothpaste, onion salad was salty, poppadoms were fine. Was approached by the waiter 2 mins after starter came out to deliver mains (2 courses in 5 minutes). Mixed grill to share, with chips, naan and curry sauce, all the meat on the mixed grill was dry, salty and cooked to within an inch of its life, chicken in particular was inedible. Ordered children’s meal which my daughter couldn’t eat because the nuggets were like bullets. Curry sauce was salty and flavourless with no spice. Naan was ok, nothing special but at least edible. The meal in total including soft drinks cost us around Ā£50 for 3 people, we were in there 20minutes, left most of our food and had to cook for my daughter when I got home. The place was empty and as the food came out so quickly (you couldn’t cook from fresh that quick) I assume it was all precooked and reheated. No one asked if our meal was ok, poor service and poor food quality. We noticed all the other tables food coming out as quickly as ours did. We’re a young, working family and don’t get to go out much so it’s so disappointing to be served such poor food. When people are paying good money there is no excuse to be serving reheated food. I hope the owners read this, the place could serve great food if cooked fresh and please ... less salt!!

I went with 9 friends as people had recommended this restaurant to me, it was meant to be a place to get a good curry with fusion experience. Although, when I came, there wasn't much fusion... To be honest. The restaurant was attractive from the outside and looks inviting but inside it's quite basic. The chairs are very small and couldn't fit my friends and I as they all have arms that are too narrow. The food was awful, the lamb in my lamb korma was very touch and dry, overcooked!. The korma was also spicy in flavour... Which is not meant to be the case!. The naan was stale and felt as though it was left under the heat for ages. The bhajis were gross: they were cold in the middle and stale so they had been left out of the fridge and microwaved. We left a lot of food be side it was inedible and there were no waiters to help us as they were all far too busy. The food actually looked more appealing than it tasted. Also the decor was off, with different patterns of wallpaper it felt like someone's house, which isn't great for a restaurant that meant to be 'the best curry in Cov'. The footie was also on, so it felt more like a cheap Wetherspoon pub rather than a quality curry house with rowdy football fans inside. I'm a Birmingham girl, so when it comes to curry, I am very particular and expect it to be done right. This was all wrong and I will not be coming again, and nor will my friends.

Went here for the first time with my family to celebrate my birthday, the welcome was cold and unfriendly by the old man behind the bar who I believe may have been the owner. I did try & have a friendly chat with him but it seemed as though he was not interested. There was a old musky smell in the air like there was a dirty cloth being used to clean the tables. The young man that served us was okay and the kitchen staff/chef clearly know what they are doing as the food came out hot & fresh and apart from the chicken curry where the meat was too dry the rest of the dishes as well as the Elephant Grill was very tasty but no one bothered to come to the table and ask if everything was okay. I think the owner really needs to up the game in customer service as currently it’s non existent. So due to the unwelcoming feeling & negative nature from The Hungry Elephant, I will not be returning here nor would I recommend it to anyone. They are many decent Desi Grills in the area that would welcome my business.

Absolutely disgusted at the service we have received tonight. My wife is in hospital after being served a fish starter when we ordered chicken. My wife is severely allergic to fish. My wife had to administer her epipen after having a severe allergic reaction which has resulted us being here in A&E. I addressed this concern to the staff on multiple occasions and all we were told was ā€˜sorry’ absolutely no care, compassion or concern from the management. A bar staff member confirmed that he noticed that my wife had developed redness to her face and chest yet still the management had no concern or interest. Anyone that has severe allergies knows how petrifying this scenario is. Those with allergies please be extra vigilant when frequenting this establishment. We were shown no care or concern. Less than a 1 star rating!!! My wife had an anaphylactic response to the food she was served. When the management were told of this they had zero response, there was no aftercare or concern instead they asked me to write down the event on some till roll. I am a paramedic and knew that my wife was developing symptoms associated with a reaction as we had to administer her epipen. I knew we were limited to the time we had to get to A&E, we left immediately and notified the staff accordingly. The staff at this establishment are below poor, if this happened at any other restaurant the aftercare would have been...
