Toby Carvery Binley Park at Brinklow Rd, Binley, Coventry, is a gem for anyone seeking a hearty, traditional British dining experience. My recent visit left a highly positive impression, as we enjoyed an excellent lunch here on our way home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a family meal or a casual stopover during a journey.
The carvery is, of course, the star attraction. The selection of freshly roasted meats, including tender turkey, juicy beef, succulent gammon, and succulent pork, was impressive. The staff were attentive, ensuring each serving was generous and perfectly carved. The variety of sides, from golden roast potatoes to creamy cauliflower cheese and vibrant seasonal vegetables, added to the meal's appeal. Notably, the Yorkshire puddings were large, fluffy, and exactly as they should be.
For dessert, the menu offered a tempting array of options. We opted for a classic sticky toffee pudding, which was a delightful ending to our meal, paired with a perfectly brewed cup of tea.
The service deserves special mention. Despite the restaurant being moderately busy, the staff were friendly, efficient, and accommodating, making sure that all diners felt valued. The cleanliness of the dining area and the prompt attention to detail further enhanced our experience.
Value for money is another strong point of Toby Carvery Binley Park. The pricing is reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. This combination of affordability, delicious food, and welcoming ambiance makes it a perfect choice for both locals and travelers.
In summary, Toby Carvery Binley Park exceeded our expectations. It’s an excellent spot for a satisfying, traditional meal, and we would not hesitate to visit again when in the area. Highly recommended for anyone passing...
Read moreWe had a family breakfast at Toby at Binley, Coventry and we left well disappointed. You pay in advance at the bar without being asked or explained how it works. Of course, you should know how the buffet breakfast work, but being at many buffet breakfast we hoped for the similar experience. The weekly adult breakfast doesn’t include the drink so you pay about £3 for a hot/cold drink refill. The hot drink is a disaster: a station with filtered coffee and a jug with cold milk. How to make it work and keep your coffee nice and hot? Also, the filtered coffee they had was disgusting. The child’s breakfast option is the same as adult, just £2 cheaper. When we asked for something else, like porridge, we were told that it’s paid separately, and it’s cheaper- which was not the point. We know our son likes porridge in the morning, but since they were not keen to serve it to him for a higher price we paid, he eventually had some toast with butter (£5 for that… blimey!). The glasses we got for our drinks were also very dirty… Their “eat all you can” is basically refill your plate with very average cooked breakfast. Because there’s simply nothing else there. Oh, unless you fancy a toast with jam - they had that served in the cereal bowls too, not as single jam packs so you would need to make sure you put a blop of it on your toast before you departure to your table. I could potentially understand if this sort of breakfast was included in the one night stay at the nearby Travelodge. But for a walk-in guest it’s not something I...
Read moreToby Carvery in Binley is one of my go-to places, and for good reason! The food is lovely, though the quality of the meat can sometimes be hit or miss. Some joints tend to be fattier than others, so I always play it safe and go for the turkey—it’s absolutely beautiful, perfectly cooked, and never disappoints. 🤌🏼
One of the highlights of our visits has been the tall, ginger chef; my 8 year-old son has taken a real liking to him, and I have to say, his customer service is always spot on. He goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and the way he’s made my son so happy has turned Toby Carvery into one of his favorite places to eat. He absolutely deserves recognition for his excellent attitude and friendliness.
The only downside for me is the front-of-house experience. When you arrive, you’re greeted by the host post (make sure you put your car registration in to avoid a fine!). However, the staff at the entrance are often inattentive, and you’re usually left standing there waiting for someone to seat you. It would make such a difference if staff acknowledged customers with a simple “Sorry about the wait, someone will be with you shortly.” That said, the tall young lad on front-of-house is a standout - he’s polite, approachable, and leaves a good impression.
Overall, it’s a great place for a hearty meal, and with a bit of improvement on the front-of-house service, it could be even better. We’ll definitely keep coming back, especially for the turkey and the warm atmosphere the chefs bring...
