Morrisons Cafe — Restaurant in Coventry

I wouldn’t give even a one star but no choice not to give a zero rating. Yesterday we ordered steak pie mash and peas with gravy with apple crumble & custard for pudding. The plate was stone cold the pie shockingly pale, pastry was damp and one bite was tough chewy we couldn’t eat any of the meal. The peas cold. The mash potato I’ve never seen anything so disgusting it was brown in colour, yes Brown!!!! I asked what is that? She said mash potato claiming it was heated in the steamer !!! Ergo shocking pastry pie too. we have never had such displeasure to be placed in front of us such disgusting unfit for human consumption food. The crumble nearly scolded us it was so hot thick stodgy mess done in a microwave. The place was freezing cold. Was told the heating just gone down waiting for repairs. The place requires closing down the manager sacked too. Obviously we will never return there to Binley Morrisons again. SHOCKING...

We were staying locally and decided to pop in for breakfast in the cafe, that was a mistake as we were time limited and service was shockingly slow. Once we had already ordered and paid we overheard a member of staff telling another customer that it was at least a 25 or 30 minute wait for hot food. Not long after taking our seats the cafe was forced to close to new customers as the wait time had become too long. If the cafe had been packed it would have been understandable but there were plenty of unoccupied tables. Only the young man serving on the till seemed to have any sense of the need for maintaining some pace to service. Every other member of staff I saw seemed to be on a go slow, plodding along with no sense that there was a situation to be dealt with. I hate, absolutely hate leaving bad reviews, but here we are. My husband and I came at half three on a Saturday afternoon, there were only three tables occupied. I ordered chunky steak pie mash and peas, husband ordered the chicken tikka masala. I can not explain how bad my food looked when it arrived. It had clearly been placed on the plate stone cold and microwaved, but the pie had heated and the gravy and mash and peas had not. They weren’t even warm, flat out cold. The young man on the till could not have been more helpful and apologetic to be fair, but there is only so much he could do. In order to get a refund you have to leave the cafe and go to customer service which is in the supermarket, you don’t get refunded from the till you paid into. All in...
