Unorganised restaurant Dirty plates/ cloths left for long time after people leave Only got 4 different meats in 1 hour we was there Not many variety of meat and very limited options è.g they only serve undercooked meat we was told chef don’t usually change the way they cook as the same meat goes to everyone else in the restaurant so they couldn’t just change things for us And the meat didn’t even have seasoning? It literally didn’t tasted much? Not even salt was used
Buffet section sooo limited. And some pans were simply empty The feijoada (beans stew) wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t what I expected at all Meat is soo raw it comes bleeding 🩸 Toilet seat was broken I literally had to try balancing whilst sitting on the toilet lol Bad customer service (only a young guy was nice) I literally spoke to a young blonde lady and she heard me and completely ignored even after I called her a few times she was right next to me! We asked another waitress who told me he’s bringing something we asked and he never did
No music no nothing was completely silent
In general, I spent £80 for some stews and rice, Diet Coke and bear. £80! Wow We barely ate any meat! We literally paid £80 for the very small limited buffet section which many pans were empty My husband had the premium menu which included the deserts but we coudknt even wait for the desert because we couldn’t stand the whole thing anymore we simply left and agreed to have a coffee and desert somewhere else
I was so disappointed because it was my husbands birthday and from what I saw on the website and the pictures I had really high expectations I felt scammed. The £10 deposit to reserve the table wasn’t even discounted when giving the final bill!? What was the £10 exactly for? I though this would be taken off the £80? And it was only an insurance in case people book the table and don’t show up? But I did! So where is my £10???
In the end the nice waiter asked how it was berthing I couldn’t lie to him he felt so disappointed that he didn’t The whole experience was a scam It just couldn’t get any worse
Guys stay safe out there don’t believe everything you read online or pictures you see online. “Lifeless” restaurant...
Read moreI enjoyed lunch at Bull Rodizio today and before I left I'd already booked a table to return for dinner on another occasion. This restaurant is the latest incarnation of what used to be the Spotted Bull pub in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead - a venue that has tried and failed in recent years of being everything from a basic pub to something more fancy. I used to enjoy playing pool here up to a couple of years ago, but it was never very busy and the complete renovation in to a proper restaurant with a small bar is quite welcome to the area.
I've read some previous quite negative reviews on TripAdvisor; with respect to the people that didn't have much good to say about this place, I would recommend visiting Bull Rodizio's website before visiting so you know exactly what type of restaurant it is, what type of foods are served and how they serve it. Brazilian food delivered to tables on skewers, with a lack of things like chips/wedges on offer, will not to everyone's liking and even in my positive reflection of my visit I do concede that it can turn in to a quite expensive meal once you add up price per head and add drinks.
However, I left here absolutely stuffed and can say for sure that I ate my monies worth of freshly prepared salads and beautifully cooked meats. We visited as a couple with a baby, we were not rushed at all, we were made to feel very welcome by the staff and I'm quite sure that had we not decided to leave we could still be sitting there now making pigs of ourselves with the meat that was constantly doing the rounds.
If you want to order a steak to your liking and have chips on the side, or if you don't like the idea of a waiter bringing selections of different meats to your table throughout your meal (by the way, if you don't like a specific meat or the way it's cooked - a preference for well done beef as opposed to rare etc - just tell them and they'll prepare the next batch in the manner you'd prefer), then go elsewhere to be more easily pleased. Bull Rodizio is new and different, a fantastic addition to our town; I can't afford to eat here too often, but I will certainly be...
Read moreThe restaurant itself reminded me of whether spoons, unfortunately it is behind a pub which in its self was quite rough looking (sticky floors/ smell of stale alchohol). You go down the hallway to get into the restaurant section. The floor of the restaurant was quite worn and the paint job on the walls was wearing. The seats were quite old fashioned. It did not give me a very brazillian vibe at all, I felt like I was sitting in a spoons with white cloths over the tables.
The chefs and waiters serving the meat/ dealing with the food were all very pleasant and professional and gave a real brazillian vibe to the restaurant. They were really hard working and I cannot fault them - thank you.
Food in itself was quite good. I couldnt really fault it! There was a good selection on the buffet and the meat from the rodezio menu was also good. I found they brought out the nicer meats (steak/ribs/chicken) later during your meal as you were probably more full from the gammon/ pork/ sausages they bring out first. I found that the meats could have come round at more regular intervals, sometimes there was a long wait in-between. Meats were all lovely though.
I saw a member of bar staff drop ice on the beer mat, pick it up with his fingers and put it back into the glass, then proceeded to shove a lemon in there as well with his bare fingers. This was in front of the whole restaurant and quite unprofessional, I'd expect this in spoons but not in a braziallian restaurant - considering i paid £35 per head, I would have expected better. Staff seemed unkempt and even wearing jogging bottoms at the bar.
If this place invested in its interior it would be a lovely place to eat and I would consider going again. I found the atmosphere quite uncomfortable. At this current time I would not consider going again. I would also invest more in staff/ training.
Some of the waiters tending to the tables/ drinks were quite abrupt. It had quite a busy atmosphere and lots of children so very loud at times.
If this place was invested in, it would be...
