Went for dinner on 20th November 2021 after receiving a recommendation for the food. There was nowhere to park, but a kind attendant helped me find somewhere to squeeze down an alley. Unfortunately this level of kindness or service was not continued once entering the restaurant. Was ignored by 3 waiters by the entrance before a 4th acknowledged me and took us to our table. Our food order was taken by an older gentleman who was half turned away from us & couldn’t have cared less about our order or even engaging with us. The food was actually very good! I could certainly recommend the place for the food and venue. But things went from bad to worse for service - our table was cleared without so much of ‘did you enjoy your meal?), there were no words spoken. No one offered us dessert (which we wanted). No one asked us if we wanted more drinks (which we wanted). We did manage to flag down one or two younger staff members who did acknowledge us and brought us more drinks (after being reminded) and some little chocolates. Our bill was brought by another older staff member who pointed out, rudely, that service was not included. I explained to him, politely, that the food and venue was great but the level of service was terrible and we had barely been acknowledged. He didn’t even apologise, he just said ‘we have been busy’. The restaurant was about half-full and the staff did not seem to be rushed off their feet, and the moments of interaction we had could have been so much warmer & kinder if someone had cared just a little bit! Needless to say we didn’t pay anything for the service and we will not be going back, which is a shame because the food was good and the parking attendant was a nice man! After so long of not being able to eat out, you would think that they would be delighted people were coming out to spend money at their restaurant. Instead we felt ignored and like an inconvenience, and I can now see from previous comments other people have felt the same, so I guess I feel validated now it’s not just us!...
Read moreCame here with a reasonably large group of friends for a birthday. When we arrived we were greeted at the door, when I mean at the door, what I really mean is the gent came out of the building, braved the cold weather and held the doors open for us as we entered, talk about first impressions, it felt like I had just pulled up at The Ritz. We were promptly shown to our table, a large round one with plenty of room for elbows, drinks followed shortly after we had sat down, perfect. We ordered food, a starter, main and the usual additions you would usually add at an Indian restaurant. Food arrives as you would expect, not quick enough to feel like you are at a fast food restaurant, but not too long you are left hungry and to say it was delicious would be a discredit to the team behind those doors who rustled it up, it was amazing The interlude between starter and main came, filled with high expectations of what was to come, but you know that saying something too good to be true means it probably is? Yep. I jest, it was however too good, I mean, the mains arrived as you would expect, timely, it arrived hot, served on hot plates, it was perfection, everything was, well hmm the garlic nann, its not that it wasn't nice because it was, however, if you are on a date or s/o, you probably don't wanna be scaring off those vampires if you know what I mean. As I was saying, everything was perfection, plates were polished, all food devoured, many people were pleased. Would I come here again? Most definitely, K2 was an absolute pleasure from team to food, so thank you from me and my friends and we look forward to seeing you again...
Read moreWe used to dine here quite often, but having moved away from the area, it had been around three years since our last visit. We decided to return last night and were pleased at first—the service was just as warm and friendly as we remembered, and the starters were absolutely delicious.
Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Two members of our group ordered the chicken korma, which didn’t look or taste anything like what you would normally expect. We assumed it might simply be a new chef’s recipe, but it turned out to be inedible. Both guests were unable to finish their meals, and by this morning they were suffering from severe stomach upset and diarrhoea.
The rest of our party, who had different dishes, felt fine, so it’s clear something went seriously wrong with the korma. This has left us extremely disappointed, especially as we had such fond memories of dining here in the past. Sadly, we will not be returning to K2 again, which is a real shame. We will also be reporting this incident to the Environmental Food Standards Agency, as serving food that makes customers ill is completely...
