We chose this pub because its vegetarian roast option—faux roast beef—really stood out, and it did not disappoint! The flavor was fantastic, and we were genuinely blown away by how good it was. It’s also rare to find a vegetarian special on a Sunday, so we really appreciated the effort and care put into their plant-based options. Our friends went for the meat dishes, including the pork belly and chicken, and they really enjoyed them. The atmosphere was great, and the staff were super friendly, making the whole experience even better. Would definitely recommend!

I swung by The Bull for lunch today, and let me tell you, that braised featherblade was off the charts! Cooked in local ale, it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth. The creamy mash was so smooth, I could eat it by the spoonful, and the broccoli added a healthy touch. The atmosphere was cozy, and the service top-notch. If you're in the mood for some hearty comfort food and a great pub experience, The Bull is the place to be for lunch. Cracking pint of Guinness aswell! I'm definitely coming back for more of that featherblade goodness!

The Bull is by far one of the best places for a Sunday Roast, all the food was fresh and exceptional. Had a pork Roast and the pork was freshly done, tender and juicy. We also had some sides of stuffing, cauliflower cheese and peas and leeks cheese. All of it was a 10/10. Then for dessert we tried the banana bread with ice cream which was also incredible. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, they all deserve recognition for their great service. Really recommend but make sure to book in advance because it’s busy on a Sunday 😌

Tried to book a table online for 3rd July via OpenTable but unable to do so. Called up and spoke to a gent who said reservations would be made available after the 1/4 final announced with England. Spent the evening after the England game refreshing the bookings (with the same "possible 1/4 final showing message every time) until it finally stopped saying that but showed as no tables available. Tried to call multiple times but no answer. Really disappointed and shan't be trying again.

In response to the owners response -

The diary was showing as full the evening before you said it was opened up. It's a pretty poor process to withhold bookings and then release at a random date/time without any prior warning. I'd been trying to book for weeks and have ultimately missed out. I'm sure you don't really care about this as you're fully booked regardless, it just makes for a poor experience for people like me who have missed out despite trying well in advance.

As for your hours - I called within your published opening hours to no answer other than a pre recorded message that hangs up once finished.

Well done for going completely defensive and not taking anything I've said into consideration to improve your service for future...

Very disappointing lunchtime visit today. Food - we both ordered 'large filet of sea bass in a garlic and herb butter on a bed of vegetables with sauté potatoes". No way could the filets be described as large! I've seen more fish in a single fish goujon! My husband's sea bass was 2 very small pieces of fish pushed together. It seemed like they had run out but made one portion size into 2 dinners. The 'bed of vegetables' was one tiny piece of cauliflower, with a few sprigs of brocolli and few pieces of carrot. The sauté potatoes were small cubes of over cooked./burned potatoes. This was £12 per head!!! It really wasn't worth even half that. No one came to check if our meals were ok. When a female member of staff took the plates away and we complained about the food, she simply said she would let the chef know. No apology or anything. Cask ale was served too cold which you do not expect when paying £4.10 per pint. When we left, the female bartender did not say thanks or even a goodbye! We were celebrating a special occasion - and based on our experience today this was beyond...

Shame you can’t pick 0 stars! Rude, Obnoxious and unprofessional staff! As a group of 12 we were planning to stay for a few hours but the staffs behaviour pushed us out the door after one. Unfortunate, as the pubs in a great location! Moved on to the other great local pubs available.

In response to your reply, we tried to order food but was told there wasn’t any chips available. Two out of the twelve members in our group had a sandwich in their bag which they did take a bite of due to not being able to order the chips. We were approached in an aggressive manor by your staff member which then prompted a reaction. As you say, in such a tough industry you’d like to think your staff would try to find out the details before being so rude to paying customers. 12 people will now share their bad experience from The Bull with friends and family and this all could of been avoided if your staff member had behaved in a...
