Fountain View Bakery — Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

Four of us stayed 3 nights in Youlgreave. The evening we arrived we saw signs outside Fountain View advertising breakfasts. So next day we went for breakfast and were not disappointed. There is a lovely atmosphere, the staff were friendly and efficient, food was fresh and delicious. Our final evening we were fed up with stodgy predictable pub grub, and as we passed the Fountain noticed that they did food at night AND they had a bar! We hadn’t booked, but they fitted us in. We just wanted a selection of light bites, they let us choose a number of the starter dishes to share. We didn’t all want sweets, they let us have one with four spoons! Try the tiramisu, it’s lush. Could not fault anything, service was amazing. The food again was fresh and delicious. The waiter and waitresses were lovely, happy and chatty. They’re efficient, attentive without being annoying and very personable. They were just so lovely. Can’t praise them enough. Fully recommend the Fountain View with 5 stars. If you happen to be lucky enough to go through the beautiful village of Youlgreave, you must stop at the Fountain View Bakery. Recently set up, it offers the most delicious food, all locally sourced and freshly cooked and baked on the premises. The menu is creative. Alex will cook you mouth-watering breakfasts and lunches. We had 3 different combinations of cooked breakfasts on Sunday, all delicious and efficiently served by friendly staff. One of our favourites was French toast with syrup and whiped cream. As for the pastries, they are incredible: light, tasty and we recommend the cinnamon buns although all are delicious. Coffees were served hot and perfect. Fresh bread, sourdough and more is available in this wonderful place but it goes quickly!! We can't wait to go...
