Owners are arrogant with a self righteous attitude. We ordered a sandwich consisting of halloumi and balsamic vinegar on wholemeal bread. We asked for the pesto to be removed as it contains pine nuts and my daughter has a nut allergy. Therefore we ordered food to suit her dietry requirements with no further need to inform staff. Once the food arrived we started to eat what we thought was a nut free sandwich, however it came with pesto on and by the time we realised it was too late and she had an allergic reaction. She was violently sick and suffered constricted breathing and a tight chest for the rest of the evening. I returned to Prestons once she was fine, to discuss this with the owner. Not once did he enquire about her health or apologise. Instead he came up with a lame excuse that the waitress wrote peppers not pesto. Peppers were not even an ingredient in this sandwich. He basically implied he was right and i was wrong. I asked him to consider adding food allergy advice to his menus to which he said NO. In miniscule writing it mentions food allergies at the bottom of his menus. By law he is doing the absolute minimum requirement to cover himself but he is not putting the welfare and safety of his customers at the forefront of his business. My advice- avoid...
Read moreThere are new faces in the cafe all the time, you can tell employees don't stick around long. Really says something about the owners. I've heard from previous employees, the owners are very rude, occasionally make racist jokes, put on a face for the customers, don't care when (not if) they make their staff cry, and then mock them whilst in the toilets clearing up tears. Absolutely disgusting. The reason they have job adverts in the window is because everyone is always leaving, if you're looking for a job, look elsewhere. I feel sorry for all the girls working there, all young girls all just wanting some money to get by, most probably first or second job. No one there is actually permanent longer than 6 months, anyone who wants a decent job/career would not work there. They have the nerve to say "its the staff issues we're having", take just one look at yourselves, and then you will realise why you are having staff issues. The coffee is average at best, not fresh, and definitely not a specialist as they claim to be . Specialist self-righteous idiots, that yes. Much better at jack rabbits or indeed anywhere else...
Read moreSuch a shame. We had visited Prestons frequently for coffees and cakes. Our son who is 2 we bring our own biscuits / food as he has food aversion and is Autistic. The usual staff are friendly but On the last trip we were told by a man who we believe is the son of the owners that âno food was allowedâ . We explained that we came most days and ordered ours but as a 2 year old autistic child he had his own. We were told this was ok âon this occasionâ but not again⌠as such we will go to Bear where not only are they ok with this but give our son crayons and a colouring sheet⌠pretty silly to not see the bigger business picture. By reading other reviews apparently the owner seems to be very rude. Wonât go there again. Theyâve lost such loyalty...
