The Runway Cafe — Restaurant in Derbyshire Dales

Visiting the area and visited this cafe twice in 2 days. Lovely cafe with limited parking as its on an estate but you should be able to park. Friendly staff and really good menu at reasonable prices. I had the double bacon cheese burger and chips the first day. Really nice with large fresh roll and lovely cooked chips, and the sauces are proper HP brown and tomato ketchup. The second day i had the Midi breakfast with toast. Really tasty and good portion sizes, so kept me going all day. My friend had the Midi breakfast also, but added chips. Just wished i lived in the area as this would be my go to cafe. Gets really busy but plenty of seating available and caters for all. Top notch cafe, lovely staff and tasty...

Have had a few great veggie breakfasts here. Popped recently in to get a couple of takeaway drinks - but unfortunately, they were undrinkable. A latte should be made with milk. Not powdered milk stirred into an instant coffee! Same with the mocha - a very watery based hot chocolate - no milk, with something 'coffee tasting' in it. Neither were worthy of the £2 each charged. I hope it was a mistaken one off, but not something I'm prepared to risk trying again,...

Found this cafe via Google maps as I was on the way to Buxton...it opens at 7.00am, the ladies were very helpful... double bacon (well done) bap with a coffee... excellent... Before leaving I asked for a sausage & egg bap to go. They wrapped it up in foil to keep it warm. All in all a great hidden gem off the Derby Road on Ashbourne...
