We are locals and has been visiting this pub since we moved in the area more than a decade ago. We were disappointed that it has shut several months ago but were excited to hear that it has reopened with new tenants. Didnât had the chance to pop round until today. It has been extensively face lifted which admittedly just what it needed but at the same time something has been lost. It feels like itâs just another one of gastropubs that you find anywhere, the uniqueness of olde worlde pub and itâs warmth has gone. In my opinion, the pub now canters for the tourists also one of most expensive pub for the drinks in the area when it used to be very reasonable. No carling? And Pool table has also gone đ.    Read moreSo far on our weekly hikes we have tried several pubs in the Darley Dale area; the Grouse & Claret at Rowsley, The Grouse on the A6, the Church Inn at Churchtown and now this one at Darley Bridge. All have been praiseworthy when it came to quality and value for food and drink. The latter three for down to earth friendliness too. Darley Dale, with its industry and suburban sprawl, has been exluded from the Peak District National Park whose boundary lies just to the west.
