Whitworth Park — Attraction in Derbyshire Dales

Great local park with many regulars, both dog walkers and families. Plenty of grass space, variety of ponds (just make sure you don't lose your ball to them) & accompanying wildlife. Some nice play areas too - there's some standard older equipment in the middle, but the newer 'cube' down near the skating bowl and the young-kids equipment near the café are in really good nick, and the kids love them. Nice café at the top too if you fancy a hot drink or ice cream to take out and have around the park. It's also worth keeping an eye out for events such as summer plays. Whitworth Park is fabulous. We go there as often as we can. The park boasts lovely open ponds allowing you to directly interact with the wildlife. Great little local park with an excellent cafe. Play stuff for kids. Pond for ducks etc. Play croquet or have a beer at Barringtons next door.
