Goa Spice — Restaurant in Doncaster

First of all we were greeted by young lads that clearly couldn’t care less, both with hair in their faces and they could barely manage a smile. Music kept going really loud then quieter then loud again. I looked up the menu online before going and the menu given to me didn’t have the price on for my curry, only to find out it was £1.50 more expensive? Which they said is because online orders get 10% off which still didn’t equal the price advertised online. No napkins yet curry served in an extremely hot dish with no way to get it onto the plate as the handles were impossible to touch. Tried to take our pickle tray away when we weren’t finished. No one explained how to pay and we need to go to the bar so we’re sat waiting to pay for 15 mins. Bill came without even asking how we wanted to pay. I visited Goa Spice in Mexborough to celebrate my friends upcoming birthday. I was so impressed as soon as I entered. The welcoming was warm and friendly, the restaurant was immaculate and super clean. It was already busy (always a good sign) and the aromas in the air smelt divine. We were seated and presented with our menus. There was so much choice but I opted for the Chicken Manchurian with Mushroom Rice and a Garlic Naan. The food was amazing, lovely and hot (as in heat not spice heat) and I've never tasted anything like it. It was delicious and looked amazing. We did have poppadoms and pickles first so we didn't manage to have a dessert but you won't be disappointed here. Will definitely go again when up North visiting friends. I give it 5 stars and thank you to the lovely staff who couldn't be more helpful...

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Usually have takeaway, but decided to call in first time as friends birthday.

Cobra on draught. Food expertly prepared. A wide range of flavours and heat levels to choose from. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout.

I personally had the Mumbai chicken, with pilau rice and cheese/garlic naan - just about finished it 👍 Everyone else raved about their own food and how great it was

Owner/manager (sorry forgot to ask name) gave us each an Irish creme shot on the way out 😁
