Just a moan really - the food excellent as usual - but was spoilt and cold because of lack of the gravy requested when ordering at the till. Till operator fine but the attitude of our waitress was unbelievable - we asked for the gravy and waited and waited unitil hey! the 3 dinners out of the 7 ordered which became immediately cold - my husband started his (was starving) but my brother told the waitress to replace his (which was done) but again no gravy! What is it with all of restaurants anywhere - hanging back on the gravy? By this time we were all stressed and the quite uncomfortable with the situation - our waitress was stroppy and muttered and swore under her breath as she walked away. So we went back to the till No: 1 lady Amanda came over and sorted it out. Thanks to her we finally got the rest of the meals so we could eat all together. No coming over of our waitress though to see how we were enjoying the food! All in all my trip from Newquay where I live to see my family up North in Rotherham was ruined by this one individual hell bent on hating her job. So please take note look for a cheery waitress and not a stroppy blonde bint! who could not give a dam about any...
Read moreI recently visited The Old Market Hall in Doncaster, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, I was impressed by the spacious and well-maintained interior, which has a charming blend of history and modern comfort. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming, making it a great spot for a casual meal or drink.
Ordering was easy using the Wetherspoon app, and my food and drinks arrived surprisingly quickly. I went for the classic fish and chips, which was perfectly cooked—crispy batter, flaky fish, and generous portions. My friend opted for a gourmet burger, which also looked and tasted great. The prices were incredibly reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality.
The drinks selection was excellent, with a wide range of ales, lagers, and spirits. I tried a guest ale that was smooth and well-poured. The staff were friendly and efficient, making sure tables were cleared quickly and customers were happy.
The cleanliness of the pub really stood out—it’s well-kept and even has award-winning facilities. Overall, The Old Market Hall is a top-notch Wetherspoon pub that I’d happily visit again. Great service, great food, and...
Read moreWent in today used the app which is fab sat at a table which was still full of plates and cups and glasses. There wasn't any others free where there wasn't a crowd as one of us was working. The place wasn't busy and 5 staff to what I counted ordered drinks and food. The drinks arrive but the waiter didn't move any of the previous people's left over plates & drinks. I went to ask the bar man to clear the table. Obviously this didn't happen. Then our food arrived the waiter struggled to put our food on the table. He managed to put down our food on the table and then dropped the knife and folks onto the table which is fantastic. He then took the old plates and left the glasses and coffee cups from the previous people at the end of table. I honestly thought i was going to hear Gordan Ramsey shouting from the kitchen like a scene out of Ramseys kitchen nightmares. As we were leaving a man can and cleared our plate he asked out other cups I said they're not ours he responded with I've only just started my shift. WHAT!!! So know one else clears the tables but this man he's only just started at...
