We booked and visited on Sunday 6th June, the food is incredibly good, the service however is another matter all together. They just simply do not have enough staff, one of the two ladies was just rude and dismissive making us feel like we werenât wanted there. It took 10 minutes for our drinks and 35 minutes for our breakfasts to arrive after little or no contact from any staff, just stern looks. The drinks finished I asked for more as the food arrived but never received them nor could I summon the staff to get them. Lots of running around by them but appeared to achieve little or nothing. We could not get salt or pepper for our food. The food however was incredibly good, the only reason for gaining any stars, too marks to the chef, the quality of the ingredients and the cooking couldnât be better. The rest was so disorganised, dirty, bulbs out, leaking toilet on the floor in the gents and the phone ringing but never answered. The whole place looked untidy, uncared for, notices hanging off the windows dirty mirrors and disinterested staff.    Read moreI have both drank and eaten in this establishment many times and had a pleasant experience.Even when busy staff have been pleasant.But on my most recent visit last week both my husband and I had to leave without being served.I do not like leaving bad comments but on this occasion I feel that I have to.There was no queue at the counter and one person behind the bar to serve, we stood for 20 minutes without being acknowledged, and no eye contact , after waiting for 15 minutes the phone rang and was answered,then the member of staff turned back round to face us , still no acknowledgment, the phone then rang again and the member of staff then turned her back on us once more and answered the phone.In all this time the member of staff did not appologise for keeping us waiting, gave no explanation,and failed to acknowledge that we were there.I work in an environment where customer service is vital.I feel that there is a lack of staff training not only in good manners but also customer service.I do hope that this treatment is not repeated as I am sure not all customers will be...
   Read moreItâs a real shame that some of the staff have no concept of customer service. Its a great location and pleasant bar, but they really do lack customer focus. A simple example was this evening. I asked for a pint of lager and asked for a packet of peanuts the female server was welded to the till and would not move along the bar, to see if she had any peanuts available, (before taking payment) so she simply responded by saying âyou need to go and look in the bowl on the end of the bar and see for yourselfâ I enquired âyou want me to go a check and not youâ her response was âyes I wouldâ. I asked her not to bother with the peanuts or with the pint and that I would take my custom to a venue who wanted to serve their customers.
