The Old Lockside Tearoom — Restaurant in Doncaster

Visited The Old Lockside Tearoom for the first time today. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday with our son and baby daughter.

We had the most amazing afternoon tea and the warm, friendly and welcoming service we received really made it a day we will always remember.

The food was fantastic and all homemade. Beautiful sandwiches, homemade quiche and homemade sausage rolls. They then made us eton mess and scones which were still warm from the oven.

They even did our little boy his own little afternoon tea and really made it special for him. He hasn't stopped talking about it all day and particularly loved meeting Monty and Mabel the resident ducks.

We went out to Shepherds Farm afterwards and also went out for a meal but Euan still says that the afternoon tea was his favourite part of the day.

You enter the Tea Room as customers and leave the Tearoom feeling like Family. The food is delicious, your given a decent sized portion and have a good selection. Plenty of cakes to choose from as well. So hubby was in his element. Even though he struggled to make his decision. In the end having a piece there and took a piece home with us.

Can't wait for next week as they are creating a German/Bavarian meal of Bratwurst and large pretzel. They have even got the German mustard "SENF" in.

If you get the chance to pop into this Tea Room. Then please do. If you are feeling blue. These ladies will make you feel rosy as they have fantastic senses of humour.

Fantastic little gem I found randomly and decided to give it a try. Literally felt like I am visiting my grandma house, everything was so full with detail, so many plants and flowers around the place, we used the outdoor seating and was so comfortable and welcoming. The food fantastic quality as well, didn’t have a booking for afternoon tea but they did their best to prepare everything they can at the spot. Definitely give it a try, it’s rare to find a place...
