We booked 2 tables as we were visiting the, nearby, Yorkshire wildlife park. This was a treat for my daughter birthday and were booked into the pub for 5.30, as we were booked into the wildlife park at 7.30. We arrived on time and ordered out food within 15 minutes of arrival. We used the app as it was more convenient, with having a young child with us. The drinks arrived within 5 minutes, but that was the last we heard from the staff. After waiting 45 minutes I asked one of the staff what the delay was and when we were likely to get out order. All we were told at that point was we should have known there was a 30-45 minute wait for food. As this time period had lapsed, not that we had been informed, we were told that it should be plated soon. I explained the situation with the bookings, and that we had a fractious 6 year old waiting for food, to which we were told, again, that the food was being plated up. 20 minutes later, having waited over an hour, we still had no food or any further information. At this point we were told we may as well cancel the order, which we did, though we did have to ask for a refund as there was an assumption, we would cancel the order but still pay for it. Upon arrival I made myself known to staff only to be told that my meal wasn’t ready yet and could I take a seat. At 19:10 the lady brought out 2 bags and I thought they were both for me but unfortunately they were for a different customer. At that point I was asked what was my order so I explained. The lady disappeared back into the kitchen. I think they couldn’t find my order. A couple of minutes later she returned and asked if one of the burgers was an old faithful to which I replied yes. A further 10 minutes passed and then at 17:20 a young lad brought out a bag for me and apologised for the wait. I didn’t check the contents. When I got home I found the order was completely wrong. I tried to phone but just went to answer phone so I left a message. The order we got was 1 x double beef burger with no side, 1 x double chicken burger with curly fries and 1 x single beef burger with fries (there was a sauce on it which I have no idea what it was)

Read moreThree weeks ago I was part of the Armitage party that booked a table of 12 for 4.30. If you refer to the review posted by Nick Armitage you will see that the whole experience was far from good, we eventually ordered at 4.50 as only a table of 6 had been reserved and we had to stand around and wait whilst the moved another family to the other side of the pub. That was bad enough but my husband and I eventually received our meal at 6.00pm and as we had another appointment at 6.15 we took our meal home in a takeaway box as did a number in our party.My dogs seemed to enjoy the steak but didn’t have an opportunity to taste it. In fact the takeaway boxes arrived long before any sign of the food. The reason for the delay in my review was that Mikey who I believe is the manager promised to email Mr Armitage and make amends for the dreadful experience.we’d had that night. He also made many promises as we left the building, fed up and hungry but as with that night we’re still waiting for any recompense long after the acceptable timelines.
